Congress says talks with Trinamool ‘on hold’, Mamata Banerjee reiterates vow to fight alone

NEW DELHI: The conflict between Congress and Trinamool Congress, allies of the Indian bloc, over a seat-sharing arrangement in West Bengal escalated on Wednesday as Mamata Banerjee reaffirmed her intention to contest independently in her state. The Trinamool supremo mentioned certain people who only showed up during elections, such as the spring Cuckoos, without mentioning any party or leader. "I don't usually attend political events, but some parties make a lot of noise during election season. We shall not give up on the BJP. We'll battle by ourselves. Trinamool Congress is the only party that can beat the BJP, Mamata stated, restating previous statements she made in Kolkata last week. The West Bengal chief minister's remarks coincide with reports from Congress insiders that seat sharing negotiations in Bengal were merely on pause and that they were still trying to recruit Mamata as a possible ally. "Seat sharing in West Bengal among the INDIA bloc is halted. Congress and TMC are debating the suggestions. TMC remains a member of the INDIA Alliance, according to party sources. Additionally, party chief Jairam Ramesh made an effort to downplay any division between the Trinamool and the Congress. "On our end, nothing has been finalised as of yet. Every member of an alliance should speak with a single voice. Decisions cannot be made on one side only. Within the INDIA alliance, there are three parties. They should all make an official announcement if they intend to battle one another separately. According to Jairam Ramesh, "Up until now, we are thinking that the INDIA alliance will fight together in West Bengal as well." Previously, Mamata Banerjee had effectively barred the Congress from Bengal by stating that the TMC will fight on its own. "I didn't talk to the Congress party. We shall fight alone in Bengal, as I have always declared. The West Bengal Chief Minister had stated, "We are a secular party and we will defeat BJP alone in Bengal. I am not concerned about what will be done in the country." In the meantime, sources close to the Congress party have also revealed that a 4-3 formula for seat sharing in Delhi is being worked out between the party and AAP. ED Issues 5th Summons To Kejriwal In Excise Policy Money Laundering Case

New Delhi, Jan 31: Official sources stated on Wednesday that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has received a fifth and new summons from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for his questioning in the money laundering case related to the Delhi excise policy. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor, Kejriwal, has already ignored four summonses from the federal government for January 18, January 3, November 2, and December 21, 2023. These notices were deemed "illegal" by him. It's acknowledged that the new summons was issued for February 2.The Delhi government's excise policy for 2021–22, which granted licences to liquor dealers, is accused of enabling cartelization and favouring some dealers who had reportedly paid bribes for it—a allegation that the AAP has always denied. After the strategy was abandoned, Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena suggested a CBI investigation, and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a complaint in accordance with the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). India Now A Leading Voice In World Against Terrorism: President Murmu

New Delhi, Jan 31: President Droupadi Murmu stated on Wednesday that the scope of India's foreign policy has expanded significantly beyond the "constraints of the past" and that New Delhi has firmly put the nation's interests ahead of the world even in this period of international disagreements and conflicts. Speaking during a joint session of the two houses of Parliament, Murmu stated that India's efforts to make the African Union a permanent member of the bloc were widely recognised and that the country's successful hosting of the historic G-20 Summit improved India's worldwide status. The President declared, "India is a leading voice against terrorism in the world today."She stated that the administration has positioned India as a "Vishwa-Mitra" (friend of the world) in these trying times against the backdrop of numerous conflicts and unrest throughout the world. "My government has firmly put India's interests ahead of those of the rest of the world, even in this era of global disputes and conflicts." In her inaugural speech in the new Parliament building, she stated, "The scope of India's foreign policy today has gone far beyond the constraints of the past." According to Murmu, the world was first exposed to India's true potential through the country's many projects, and the North East and Jammu & Kashmir were the first places in the world to witness such significant international events.Over the past ten years, there has been a shift in another typical way of thinking. Diplomatic gatherings used to take place only in Delhi's hallways. The public's direct engagement in this has also been guaranteed by my government," she stated. An excellent illustration of this occurred when India presided over the G-20. She continued, "India's approach to bringing the G-20 to the public was unparalleled. According to Murmu, the globe was grateful for the historic G-20 summit that took place in India. It is remarkable that the Delhi Declaration was adopted by all parties, despite a tumultuous atmosphere. The proclamation is based on India's vision, which has evolved from "women led development" to environmental challenges, she said."Efforts to secure permanent membership of the African Union in the G-20 have also been appreciated," stated the President of India. "At this summit, the Middle East-Europe-India corridor's development was declared. India's maritime capabilities will be further strengthened by this corridor, the speaker stated. The Global Biofuel Alliance's founding, according to Murmu, is a significant development since it increases India's involvement in international problem-solving. India reacts forcefully and takes action today to support humanity in times of need. India attempts to act quickly in any problem that arises in the modern world, the speaker stated.Murmu claimed that Indians employed abroad now feel more confident thanks to the administration. "With campaigns like Operation Ganga, Operation Kaveri, and Vande Bharat, we have safely evacuated every Indian wherever a crisis occurred," the speaker declared. She declared, "My government has worked tirelessly to spread the Indian practices of Ayurveda, Pranayam, and Yoga throughout the world." At the United Nations Headquarters last year, delegates from 135 nations practiced yoga together. She went on, "This is a record in and of itself. "India is going to host the first Global Centre for Traditional Medicine of the World Health Organisation," she stated.   [caption id="attachment_9990" align="alignnone" width="300"] India Now A…

Before the Parliamentary Budget Session began, Modi attacked opposition lawmakers who "habitually" obstructed proceedings. "Those who consistently cause disruptions and undermine democratic principles—all of these honourable Members of Parliament—must undoubtedly reflect on their past ten years of service during this final session of Parliament," the prime minister declared.
