IGP reviews crime, security scenario of Jammu district
JAMMU: Anand Jain, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for Jammu Zone, led a thorough review of the district's security and crime situation during a comprehensive meeting. The goal of the meeting, which was attended by SSPs, SDPOs, and SHOs from the Jammu District, was to increase the efficacy of overall police. The SSP for Jammu, Dr. Vinod Kumar, received the IGP along with DIG JSK Range, Shakti Pathak, who examined the resolution of cases filed in the current year and evaluated the backlog from the previous year. IGP Anand Jain stressed to the officials that cases must be handled quickly in order to lower pendency. Keeping law and order, preventing crime, resolving pending cases, and guaranteeing prompt investigation and case resolution were all topics of discussion.Special focus was placed on resolving public complaints and enhancing public-police relations. The topic of the meeting was counterinsurgency initiatives to strengthen law and order and security. The IGP evaluated counterterrorism efforts and presented strategies to reduce the district's crime rate. Improving the calibre of investigations was the main goal, especially when it came to theft, burglaries, the NDPS Act, and other cases. Jain emphasised the significance of enhancing investigative methods to guarantee convictions, with a particular focus on cases covered by the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). He gave the nodal officers instructions to designate cases in accordance with the UAPA's established procedure, guaranteeing prompt submission for judicial review. Dr. Vinod Kumar, SSP Jammu, gave a thorough Power Point presentation on the district's general security situation. The talk addressed the general state of crime and how it is addressed, offering insights into the steps made to improve law and order and security. IGP Jammu emphasised during the meeting that officers and officials must work professionally and that the calibre of their investigations must never be compromised. Officers were exhorted to expedite the resolution of pending cases and oversee matters within their jurisdictions effectively. The directive sought to improve overall policing efficiency and offer relief to the general public.
