SRINAGAR, Jan 25: In 33 years, the Jammu and Kashmir Police has lost more than 1600 personnel in the Pakistan-sponsored proxy war, making it the largest force among J&K's security forces, according to Director General R R Swain on Thursday. Speaking with reporters at Jammu's Police Headquarters, the DGP stated that the departure of 1600 employees serves as a standard and a watermark for the level of dedication to the country's security efforts. In addition to giving their lives in the line of duty, many also experienced injuries, displacement, and all types of intimidation and vilification, according to DGP.He said that many people who served in the police force and contributed to the national security effort in Jammu and Kashmir experienced attacks on their families and the loss of family members. According to the DGP, they have accepted this and have emphasised time and time again that the moment has come for the J&K Police and others to try documenting these experiences, both the individual accounts and the joint efforts of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and members in the battle against terror.DGP went on to say that they are stories, sagas of untold tales that aren't very well documented very often. Jammu, Jan 25: According to officials, on Wednesday night, police in the Jammu region detained two people and charged six others for posting offensive content on social media with the intention of igniting conflict between two communities. According to a police spokesperson, Amit Sharma of Bajalta filed a complaint on behalf of the residents of the Jammu district's village Khana Chargal, alleging that two people, Zaffar Hussain and Nusrat of Bajalta, posted offensive content on the social media site Instagram that could incite animosity between two communities.The two were taken into custody after a report was filed at the Nagrota police station. There is currently an ongoing investigation into the case. According to the spokeswoman, the police have filed complaints against five young people in the Ramban district who they believe posted offensive material on social media. UDHAMPUR: Under the direction of SSP National Highway Rohit Baskotra, Traffic Police National Highway registered, confiscated, and detained a minibus for overloading and endangering human lives as part of its ongoing campaign against overloading in passenger vehicles. "A team of traffic police from Traffic sub division Udhampur led by ASI Mushtaq Ahmed while routine checking at Patnitop Road intercepted a minibus bearing registration number JK21D-4329 while it was on its way from Udhampur to Chenani," a spokesperson for the Traffic Police National Highway said. He claimed that as the minibus was being checked, 52 people were discovered seated inside, compared to its 24 allotted seats. UDHAMPUR: District Police Udhampur created a district Cyber Cell at District Police Headquarters, Udhampur, to address the growing number of cybercrime crimes. In the presence of SSP Udhampur Joginder Singh, Additional SP Udhampur Anwaar UL Haq, Deputy SP Headquarters Udhampur Gurmeet Sing, SDPOs, SHOs, and other staff members, DIG U-R Range Suleman Choudhary officially opened the Cyber Cell of the District Police Udhampur. The Cyber Cell will handle a variety of cybercrimes, including sextortion, phishing, social media fraud, financial fraud, cyber theft, and online cyberfraud.The cyber team will also teach district Udhampur police station IOs and lower-level employees how to handle cybercrime and educate the public about cybersecurity. In the past two years, the district has recorded 89 cases connected to cyber fraud. Of these, seven have resulted in the filing of formal complaints, with a total recovery amount of Rs 17,78,985. It is pertinent to note that 434 of the 619 online complaints that were submitted through the NCCRP site were resolved, and 184 are still being investigated. Farman Ali, also known as Munna, is a drug dealer who is wanted in multiple crimes; the other four offenders, according to them, helped heroin smugglers with their operations. Based on particular information, a police squad carried out a raid and detained Ali for giving heroin worth Rs 4.5 lakh to a drug dealer in Punjab, according to the police. According to the police, they also took from him heroin valued at Rs. 28,000 and cash totaling Rs. 1,29,000 in total. Operating out of Jammu and Kashmir's Balole Khad, Ali provided heroin to small-time drug dealers.They added that there are numerous cases filed against him.
