2 killed, 15 injured in road accident in Rajouri

Rajouri, Nov 06: Officials said that a road accident in the Rehan area of the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday resulted in two fatalities and at least fifteen injuries. 17 passengers were injured when a tempo traveller travelling from Kotranka to Rajouri plunged into a deep canyon at Kainchi Morh near Rehan on the Rajouri-Kotranka route, an official said .According to him, all of the injured were sent to GMC Associated Hospital Rajouri, where two were pronounced deceased. CS Chairs Preparatory Meeting For 5th Phase Of Back To Village Programme

JAMMU, Nov 5: The J&K government's premier public outreach, participation, and feedback project, the "Fifth Phase of Back to Village Programme (B2V5)," was reviewed in a high-level meeting today that was presided over by the chief secretary and included senior functionaries. Senior officials from many departments, including the departments of finance, general administration, information technology, rural development, and revenue, attended the conference.It has been revealed that the B2V5 will take place from November 7–November 16, 2023. In addition to providing feedback on various noteworthy achievements of Departments recognised at the national level, Prabhari Officers will visit their respective panchayats during the programme, engage with the public, review deliverables from the previous and current year, and prepare the Gramme Panchayat Development Programme for the following year with a special focus on improving e-services penetration and user experience for greater accessibility and usage by citizens at large.The Chief Secretary noted that in addition to raising public awareness of government programmes and services, earlier iterations of B2V had assisted in gathering village requirements, ranking public works of importance, and assisting the government in guaranteeing last-mile delivery of various services. Additionally, they have assisted in identifying recipients of skill development and self-employment programmes, particularly women and young people. Many young people without jobs have been given the opportunity to work for themselves thanks to partnerships with banks.In addition to the many other parameters for which a booklet is being distributed to Prabhari Officers, Dr. Mehta emphasised that this edition of B2V will concentrate on saturation of self-employment schemes, progress on Jal Jeevan Mission implementation, saturation of welfare schemes including old-age pension scheme, sports, culture, progress on achieving deliverables, availability of electricity in villages, and a host of other topics. The complete set of data will be digitally compiled and examined for any follow-up actions at the appropriate government levels.It was disclosed that Prabhari Officers who are participating in this scheme for the first time will receive the necessary training from the Rural Development Department. Additionally, Deputy Commissioners will phase in B2V in their districts in accordance with their operational needs. After significant development, the Back to Village initiative is now a part of the Aspirational Panchayat Programme. The J&K government is also using another innovation called the Panchayat Development Index. Saturation of services and closing the gap between the people and the government are the main goals of the programme.He pleaded for the people to participate in the B2V programme in large numbers because this will be a true indicator of the initiative's success. To further accomplish the particular goals established for this phase, all officers were urged to actively engage in B2V activities. SRINAGAR: A reward of Rs 10 lakh was announced on Sunday by RR Swain, the recently appointed chief of police in Jammu and Kashmir, for anyone with information regarding the recent targeted killing of a non-local labourer, a police constable, and one police inspector who was critically injured in the union territory. The Director General of Police declared emphatically that nobody would be spared. Masroor Ali, an inspector in the Eidgah region of Srinagar, was just shot by terrorists; at this point, his health is severe. Additionally, suspected terrorists shot and killed Head Constable Gulam Mohammad in Wailoo Uralpora, Pattan, and Non-local Labourer Mukesh Kumar in Trumchi Nowpora, Pulwama.During the announcement of the monetary award, Swain added that the three cases are almost solved. He went on to say that anybody who have given terrorists cars, phones, lodging, or other forms of support will face harsh consequences in accordance with the law. SRR On Tuesday, Swain assumed the role of 17th Director General of Police for Jammu and Kashmir. Former DGP Dilbag Singh, who superannuated on October 31, was replaced in leadership by Swain. Before becoming the DGP of Jammu and Kashmir in 1991, R.R. Swain, an IPS officer from the 1991 batch, held a number of significant and vital roles in the Jammu and Police, including SDPO Kothi Bagh, SP Ramban, SP Kargil, SP Poonch, SSP Kathua, SSP Jammu, SSP Srinagar, AIG (P/W) PHQ, and DIG Vigilance. Car Plunges Into Gorge In Doda, 2 Dead

Jammu, Nov 5: In the Doda area of Jammu and Kashmir, a car went off the road and fell into a steep gorge, killing two people and gravely injuring several , according to police on Sunday. They claimed that the car was travelling from Doda town to Jodhpur village when it was involved in a collision late on Saturday night in Jijote. Shortly after the car tumbled into the gorge, police and community volunteers began a rescue effort, according to Doda Senior Superintendent of Police Abdul Qayoom.According to him, two of the four people who had been rescued in damaged condition and transferred to Doda Medical College Hospital—Ranjeet Kumar, 40, and Sahil Kumar, 18—were pronounced dead when they arrived. According to the officer, Nitin Kumar and Surinder Kumar are receiving care at the hospital.
