CS Dr Mehta launches virtual tour application and competitions to create awareness against Corruption

SRINAGAR: J&K e-Governance Agency (JaKeGA) chief secretary Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta unveiled a virtual tour application that would allow officers to visit remote locations to gather information about public grievances and developmental efforts without having to make in-person trips. The virtual tour project combines location-based virtual interactivity with video conference elements to present a mobile app for remote site inspections. It is transformative in that it gives the officers the ability to evaluate all developmental operations objectively in addition to facilitating public contact through automated records.The application provides a straightforward process for visiting faraway locations without leaving the office building. Officers have the ability to remotely investigate and examine sites in real-time and provide the field functionaries carrying out the projects on the ground with the appropriate instructions. Additionally, the programme is AI-based, translating recorded observations into text and providing a summary in accordance with the user's needs. In addition, the application has been designed with effective site inspections in mind, setting it apart from other video calling applications that lack many of the essential functions that users expect from such programmes.Additionally, the Chief Secretary announced a number of IT Department competitions for UT residents to observe "Vigilance Awareness Week" with a same theme—"Say No to corruption, commit to the nation" Commissioner Secretary for Information Technology Prerna Puri disclosed that these events include writing competitions for essays and poetry, poster creation, and slogan writing. The public can enter any of these competitions until November 5th, and the winners will get fantastic rewards. She advised those who are interested in participating in the competitions to visit the J&K government website at http://jk.mygov.in. For each competition, the first place winner will get a cash award of Rs. 10,000. In the same way, the winners of the second and third prizes in each of the three events will get cash prizes of Rs. 8000 and Rs. 5000, respectively. Dr. Mehta expressed gratitude to the IT Department for developing these concepts, which provide regular people a chance to contribute to the development of their country and make investments in its integration. Since youngsters are the ones who suffer the most from corruption, he recommended the Department to reach out to young people, especially those enrolled in our higher education programmes, in order to raise as much awareness as possible among them about the best ways to combat corruption. Youth are entitled to an atmosphere free from corruption. The Chief Secretary expressed gratitude to the J&K people for their enthusiastic involvement in national unity-related events. According to him, the recent UT Foundation Day celebrations, which saw the participation of over 11 lakh persons, are the first in J&K history. He said that it is very amazing that nearly everyone from half of the UT homes has attended these kinds of events, which says a lot about how effectively people have adapted to the recent improvements.
