Infiltration bid foiled in Kupwara, 2 terrorists killed: Police

SRINAGAR: Security forces stopped an attempted infiltration along the Line of Control in the Kupwara area of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, according to authorities, and two terrorists were killed. The Kumkadi area in the Machil sector in the north Kashmir district was the site of the attempted infiltration. NIA Conducts Raids at LeT OGW’S premises in Poonch in Dhangri Terror Attack case

New Delhi : In connection with the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) attack in Dhangri village of Rajouri district, in which five civilians were killed and several others suffered serious injuries in January of this year, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids at the homes of several suspects on Saturday in Poonch district of Jammu & Kashmir.Today, five places in the Mendhar Tehsil of the Poonch district's Gursai hamlet were the target of raids. The properties, which were the homes of Overground Workers (OGWs) connected to the LeT, a designated terrorist organisation, were thoroughly searched by NIA teams. In order to uncover the conspiracy, a number of digital devices and documents containing incriminating data and content have been seized and are being carefully examined.On August 31, 2023, the NIA detained two suspects in connection with case (RC-01/2023/NIA/JMU), Nisar Ahmed @Haji Nisar and Mushtaq Hussain. They are currently being held in Kot Bhalwal Central Jail in Jammu. Today's raids were the result of revelations made by these two guys and information obtained by the NIA.According to NIA findings, both of the apprehended accused were harbouring the terrorists responsible for the horrific attack. For for than two months, they had supported the terrorists logistically and housed them in a hideout that they had constructed. Investigations revealed that the pair had been acting under the orders of three Pakistan-based LeT handlers, Saifullah @ Sajid Jutt, Abu Qatal @ Qatal Sindhi, and Mohd. Qasim.Under sections 302/ 307/120-B/452/323 of the IPC, sections 13/16/18 of the UA (P) Act 1967, and sections 7/27 of the Arms Act, the attack case was initially filed as FIR No. 01/2023 at PS Rajouri. The case has been taken over by the NIA, which re-registered it on January 13 and is now conducting additional inquiries. CS reviews developmental scenario of District Samba

SAMBA: In district Samba today, CS Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta undertook a thorough evaluation of ongoing development projects and landmark efforts covering many sectors. The main goal of the conference was to evaluate the state of the district's ongoing development initiatives and various schemes. Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar, SSP Samba Benam Tosh, and the leaders of several departments and divisions operating inside the district were present during the meeting. He noted that the area has excellent potential for industrial growth, and if that potential is fully realised, Samba will likely surpass all other industrial districts in the UT. The material recovery facility and compost pit shed in the Municipal Committee Bari-Brahmana, the improvement of WSS BHALOORA under JJM in Block Rajpura, and the improvement of WSS Rai Patti under JJM in Block Ghagwal were all inaugurated by Dr. Mehta as part of this thorough review. JAMMU: Police in Jammu District asserted that by apprehending two locals and two residents of Uttar Pradesh, all 11 unsolved cases of chain snatching that had been filed within the jurisdiction of the Jammu South and Jammu North sectors, respectively, had been conclusively resolved. Policeman among 2 drug peddlers held in Baramulla

BARAMULLA: In the Baramulla district of North Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Police reported on Friday that they had detained two drug dealers, among them a police officer, and found contraband in their possession. According to a police official, officers detained drug dealers in Boniyar Baramulla and seized illegal substances from their possession. "A police party of Police Station Boniyar headed by SHO PS Boniyar under the supervision of SDPO Uri at a checkpoint established at Boniyar Baramulla intercepted two persons identified as Sajad Hussain Qureshi (Policeman) son of Nazir Ahmad Qureshi resident of Bandi Uri & Nadeem Ahmad Awan son of Mohd Hussain resident of Gingal Uri," the official stated. Farmers’ stir : Passengers stranded at Jammu, Katra stations as 7 trains cancelled, 13 diverted

2 Mortar Shells Found Along IB In Kathua

Kathua/ Sep 29 : On Friday, two antique mortar shells were discovered on a field near the International Border (IB) in the Kathua area of Jammu and Kashmir, according to officials. According to them, a farmer in the Patti Meru hamlet along the IB in the Hiranagar district discovered the two live mortar shells while working on his field.
