RAJOURI: According to Army Officials, the number of Army personnel who have died as a result of the terrorist attack on two military vehicles in the Thanamandi area of the Rajouri sector on Thursday has now reached four. NEW DELHI: Kalhota and other Doda villages will be connected to the upcoming NH 244. Following a meeting with Nitin Gadkari, the Minister of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), Dr. Jitendra Singh, a Union Minister and local MP in the Lok Sabha, made this statement. It is noteworthy to mention that Dr. Jitendra Singh's native ancestral village is Kalhota. Work on the Khellani-Goha road National Highway-244 is being done in two shifts to make up for the pandemic-related delay and to guarantee that the project is finished as soon as possible. At Dr Jitendra Singh's request, the double shift was started earlier this year. Goha-Khellani-Khannabal National Highway NH-244, which connects Chenani-Sudhmahadev-Khellani-Chattroo-Khannabal, will offer a different route for road transportation. This route is significant from a security perspective in addition to being convenient for travel. The Goha-Khellani road's Phase I is expected to be finished by the end of this year, according to the timeline set after the pandemic, and the remaining portion up to Chattroo in the district of Kishtwar is anticipated to be finished by February 2024. At a cost of Rs 76.49 crore, the bi-directional tunnel's construction on the Khellani-Khannabal section is finished. Jammu, Dec 21:Terrorists ambushed two Army vehicles in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, injuring at least three jawans, according to officials. Around 3:30 pm, there was an attack on the vehicles on the Rajouri-Thanamandi-Surankote road in the Savni area. They were transporting jawans from a region close to Bufliaz, where since Wednesday night, there has been a cordon and search operation in place in an effort to apprehend terrorists. According to the officials, the terrorists injured at least three jawans when they opened fire on the trucks and Gipsy."Based on hard intelligence a joint operation was launched," a defence PRO stated.last night, communication was made this evening, and an encounter is currently taking place. BUDGAM: Tanveer Ahmad, an Assistant Engineer at the BDO office in Surasyar Chadoora, Budgam district, was captured by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) after he was found to have accepted a bribe. After receiving a complaint, the engineer was taken into custody and had a sizable quantity of cash taken from him. An investigation is still underway after a formal complaint was filed in accordance with Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. Tuesday was Kejriwal's scheduled departure for the Vipassana course; however, he was unable to make it because of his involvement in the INDIA bloc meeting. According to officials, he departed for the prearranged meditation class on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. The Aam Aadmi Party questioned the summons' timing on Tuesday, stating that "legally correct" measures will be taken after the party's lawyers reviewed the notice. They claimed that the details of Kejriwal's Vipassana session were "pre-scheduled" and available to the general public. "Everyone is aware that on December 19, the chief minister will depart for Vipassana. He attends this meditation class on a regular basis. It's a prearranged and pre-announced plan, according to AAP lawmaker Raghav Chadha. SRINAGAR: The 40-day severe winter period known as "Chillai-Kalan" began on Thursday, true to its name as a low of minus 4.3°C was recorded in Srinagar, according to officials. According to a meteorological department official, Srinagar's minimum temperature today was 2.8°C colder than average for this time of year in the summer capital of J&K. According to the report, the extreme cold caused many water bodies in Srinagar and other districts to freeze and caused water taps to spout. According to Qazigund, the temperature was at least minus 4.0°C, the same as it was the night before. According to the MeT official, the minimum temperature was 2.4°C lower than usual for Kashmir's gateway townPahalgam recorded a low of minus 5.8°C, which was 1.4°C below normal for the well-known south Kashmir resort, compared to minus 6.3°C the night before. According to the official, Kokernag, located in south Kashmir, saw a minimum temperature of minus 3.0°C, down from minus 3.3°C the night before. The temperature was 1.3°C below average for the area. According to the official, Kupwara town in north Kashmir saw a low of minus 4.0°C, down from minus 3.5°C the night before. This was 1.4°C below average. According to the official, Gulmarg saw a low of minus 3.0°C, down from minus 4.4°C the night before. The temperature was also 1.8°C higher than usual for the well-known north Kashmiri skiing resort.He said that Jammu recorded a minimum temperature of 7.3°C, which was 1.6°C below normal for the winter capital of J&K and 6.4°C the night before. According to him, Banihal recorded 7.6°C, Batote 6.0°C, and Bhaderwah 2.4°C. Even though 'Chillai-Kalan' will conclude on January 30, winter will still persist. The next two periods are called "Chillai-Khurd," which lasts for 20 days from January 30 to February 19, and "Chillai-Bachha," or "baby cold," which lasts for 10 days from February 20 to March 1. For the next 24 hours, MeT has forecast "generally mainly dry" and chilly weather in J&K. He stated that the weather on December 23 would likely be cloudy overall with a chance of light snowfall in a few isolated higher regions. JAMMU: An extensive operation was started throughout the Doda district, overseen by MVD personnel and led by ARTO Doda, Rajesh Gupta. The MVD team carried out a comprehensive crackdown by deliberately focusing on vulnerable areas with a high volume of traffic violations. With the issuance of 356 challans and 91 compounds, a significant revenue collection of Rs 898,700 was made. This operation aims to send a strong message about the significance of adhering to traffic regulations in addition to penalising violators.The MVD department took decisive action during the operation, suspending and cancelling nine driver's licences. Tough warnings were sent out regarding erroneous driver's licences (D/L) and registration certificates (R/C).
