Strong, dry cold waves and brisk winds from the mountains have made life even more miserable for the people of Kashmir, who are still concerned about the lack of snowfall. According to the Meteorological (MeT) statement, the minimum temperature was - 5.6 in Srinagar, minus 4.4 in Gulmarg, and minus 6.5 in Pahalgam. The lowest temperature recorded in the Ladakh region was minus 15.3 in Leh town and minus 14.3 in Kargil. The minimum temperatures recorded in Jammu city were 3.4, Katra 6, Batote 2.1, Bhaderwah - 0.2, and Banihal minus 2.2.The "Chillai Kalan," a 40-day stretch of bitterly cold winter weather, began on December 21 and ends on January 30. Locals rely on the remaining portion of the Chillai Kalan to provide enough water for irrigation and drinking throughout the summer. Everything will be OK if there is enough snowfall during the remaining portion of the Chillai Kalan; if not, the upcoming summer will be difficult for the people. The minimum temperatures recorded in Jammu city were 3.4, Katra 6, Batote 2.1, Bhaderwah - 0.2, and Banihal minus 2.2. 1.75 lakh pilgrims visited Kheer Bhawani last year

SRINAGAR, Jan 6: At Tulmulla, the Mata Kheer Bhawani Temple offered a complete makeover with the potential to create jobs for about 1.75 lakh pilgrims every year. The temple administration is hopeful about a rise in numbers in 2024 given the increasing foot traffic. The people in charge of the temple's operations told "that the numbers now exceed those from prior years, attributing this increase to better infrastructure and a generally favourable atmosphere. "We have seen a significant rise in the number of pilgrims, and at the same time, we have observed an increase in the number of young people travelling to historical sites and temples. We expect the number to increase much more this year," the temple's chief priest said. He continued by saying that during the Amarnath Yatra, they also saw a crowd of between 50,000 and 60,000 pilgrims passing through the temple on their way back from the trek to the Holy Cave. Reena, a pilgrim visiting the temple with her family, observed, "There has been a significant improvement in the facilities provided to pilgrims here compared to earlier times, and this could be one of the factors contributing to the increased footfall." The management of the temple declared that they had improved the surrounding area of the temple in a number of ways, with an emphasis on modernising the facilities.Muslims are also making a contribution in this way, making sure pilgrims have the finest experience possible, which reflects the altruistic service that these people provide to devotees from all across the nation. Some tourists even make contact with people who were formerly their neighbours when they were residents of this area. It's more than just a visit for them. Locals reported that a rise in commercial activity surrounding the temple as a result of the increased pilgrimage has given rise to several job opportunities for the community. "A few years ago, there wasn't much activity at the local market, and when there was, it was usually on Mela days. But as of late, things appear to be moving in the direction of a general improvement," said a local. Nation determined to strengthen the hands of PM Modi: Rana

JAMMU: Senior BJP leader Devender Singh Rana declared today that the country has decided to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his unwavering and committed pursuit of inclusive growth for India, which has undergone an amazing and unprecedented metamorphosis over the previous nine years. "The Prime Minister's concept of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas Sabka Vishwas Sabka Prayas has inspired the nation and encouraged everyone to secure Viksit Bharat by 2047," Rana stated this afternoon during a meeting with party colleagues from the Nagrota Assembly constituency's Dansal, Mathwar, Amb-Ghrota, and Nagrota blocks.He stated that programmes like "Make in India," "Start-up," "Swachh Bharat Abhiyan," and "Ayushman Bharat," which seek to improve every segment of society and close the gaps that have remained for 60 years after independence, demonstrate the Prime Minister's commitment to inclusive growth. He said that the goal of the past nine years has been to guarantee equitable and inclusive economic development for all segments of the nation's diverse society, free from discrimination or appeasement. The people of Jammu and Kashmir, who are now actively participating in India's progress, have been the main beneficiaries of this mission. According to Rana, the significant change occurred with the repeal of Article 370, which made all the difference in August 2019 by removing barriers to the implementation of several government projects and welfare schemes and putting an end to the denial and deprivation of marginalised groups for seventy years. He declared that ground-breaking projects are gathering steam and will be advanced during Prime Minister Modi's third term. "Prime Minister Modi believes in carving out a nation where prosperity knows no socio-economic boundaries by empowering the poor, the youth, and women, promoting skill development, fostering innovation, and encouraging investment," Rana said, adding that the BJP's unwavering commitment to creating a stronger and Viksit Bharat calls for collective support.He expressed hope that the people of India, regardless of their religion, caste, or geographic location, would once again rise to the occasion and guide the country towards its objective by helping to realise a prosperous and vibrant India. He said that these efforts, along with the Prime Minister's dynamic and progressive leadership, will undoubtedly make India the Vishwaguru. In-depth discussion of the nation's achievements in science and technology, economic affairs, and development was provided by Devender Rana, who helped India rise to the position of fifth economic power in the world. He predicted that the nation would rise to the position of third economic power in the globe within the following five years. CS assesses preparedness for full solarization of government buildings till 2025

JAMMU: Today, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo presided over a meeting to evaluate the state of the Union's readiness for the prime minister's goal of having rooftop solar power plants on all government buildings by December 2025, which was set during the just finished CS Conference in New Delhi. Along with the principal secretary of finance, several top officers from the relevant departments also attended the meeting, including the CEO of JAKEDA, commissioner secretary of science and technology, and others. The Chief Secretary highlighted at the beginning of the meeting the need to have a solid plan for delivering the same on time and without fail. He explained that since solar energy is more affordable and environmentally friendly, it makes sense to embrace it and take full advantage of its potential in the Utah Territory. In order to analyse the viability and potential of each government building in Utah, he suggested arranging meetings with the major participants in the market, such as NHPC, NTPC, or SECI. Dulloo requested that you hold a one-day workshop with these players and let them know that you are interested in this solarization project. During his presentation, Commissioner Secretary for Science and Technology Saurabh Bhagat disclosed that UT government offices in J&K districts have 22494 registrations under their names, with a sanctioned load of around 486 MW. It was disclosed that JAKEDA or other departments have previously solarized close to 1900 structures, totaling 27.61 MW of capacity up to this point. Furthermore, it was discovered that by putting these rooftop solar power plants in the remaining 20,000 buildings, an additional 300 MW could be added. It was also mentioned that every department is required to submit data here, including a list of their buildings, approved linked loads, rooftop area free of shadows, geo-coordinates, and other pertinent information regarding these kinds of structures.He also stated that the government is willing to offer subsidies to the organisations carrying out this activity in the UT in addition to giving the JAKEDA the necessary revolving budget for this assignment. He recommended that the department conduct a study of the selected structures over the following few weeks and then create a model contract and DPR for each district. He advised them to keep an eye out for the fruitful precedents set by other States and UTs across the nation. He also emphasised the importance of getting technical support from any reputable organisation in order to have a clear plan for reaching this objective.During his presentation, Commissioner Secretary for Science and Technology Saurabh Bhagat disclosed that UT government offices in J&K districts have 22494 registrations under their names, with a sanctioned load of around 486 MW.
