JAMMU: A meeting was presided over by Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, to assess the financial and material advancements achieved in the building of bunkers in Jammu Division's border districts. Deputy Commissioners and representatives from the executing agencies in Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Rajouri, and Poonch were present during the meeting. The Div Com gave the Deputy Commissioners instructions to take decisive action and work extra hard to finish all of the communal and individual bunkers authorised in their districts.He requested that the Deputy Commissioners provide daily progress updates and assess the state of construction on unfinished bunkers. By February 28, 2024, the Div Com ordered that all bunkers be completed. The Div Com was previously informed by the Deputy Commissioners about the current state of the individual and community bunker projects in their various districts, including the financial and physical advancements made thus far. SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Police announced on Saturday that it had submitted a charge sheet in an arms seizure case to an NIA court in this city. Yawar Shafi Bhat, an accomplice of Arfat Yousuf Khan, and he were the two accused in this case; Bhat was killed in a clash with security personnel in 2022. The charge sheet was submitted to the Court of NIA, Srinagar, on Friday, according to a police spokeswoman. It was registered under the Arms Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. According to him, Bhat was a resident of Kalampora Pulwama, whilst Khan lives in Pethgam Rajpora. According to the spokesperson, the case has to do with the accused's possession of weapons and ammunition that the Batamaloo police seized.According to him, a connection between Khan and Bhat was made over the course of the inquiry using call detail records and Internet Protocol Detail Records (IPDR). On September 30, 2022, Bhat was killed in an encounter in the Baramulla district's Shah Mohalla Yadipora Palhallan. The case's hearing has been scheduled for February 19, according to the spokesperson. NEW DELHI, Jan 20: According to exchange filings by the businesses, the Steel Ministry has suspended one director of iron ore giant NMDC and two board-level officers of steel PSU SAIL for alleged misbehaviour. In a report to the BSE, the steel PSU stated that SAIL has also suspended 26 other personnel for violating its code of conduct, effective immediately. According to the filing, the Ministry of Steel suspended V.S. Chakravarthy, Director of Commercial, and A.K. Tulsiani, Director of Finance, with immediate effect through letters dated January 19, 2024, "in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of Rule 20 of the Conduct, Discipline and Appeal Rules, 1977 of Steel Authority of India Limited."An additional Steel Ministry PSU Additionally, NMDC declared that V. Suresh, a board-level official, had been suspended effective immediately. "Ministry of Steel has placed V. UDHAMPUR: Bharat Sinh Solanki, a senior AICC official and the party's liaison for J&K affairs, claimed on Friday that the BJP was avoiding local and assembly elections out of concern that it would lose, "thus depriving people of J&K of basic democratic rights". He claimed that the BJP should be held accountable for the injustices done to the people of J&K, since they had stolen their jobs, land, and statehood. Speaking alongside a group of local leaders to party workers in Udhampur, Solanki declared, "After losing the Kargil hill council polls, the BJP called off all elections, from local councils to panchayats. Even though the Supreme Court ordered that the long-overdue Assembly elections be held before the end of September this year, no one knows when they will take place."In a scathing attack, Solanki accused the saffron party of "bringing unprecedented price rise of all commodities like petrol, diesel, LPG and other items".
