Several Persons Booked In Rajouri, Reasi For Objectionable Posts Related To Ram Temple Event

JAMMU, Jan 24: According to police officials, some residents of the districts of Rajouri and Reasi have been charged with spreading "objectionable content" on social media about the Ram temple's consecration ceremony in Ayodhya. Some people have shared "sensitive content" on social media during the Ram temple's consecration event, which they claim has the potential to "disturb peaceful atmosphere" in the Rajouri area. According to them, police took it seriously and filed a complaint against them for allegedly offending a community's religious sentiments. Police in Reasi have opened a second case against an individual for allegedly sharing "objectionable content" on social media, according to the police.People were urged by SSP Reasi Amit Gupta not to share any offensive material on social media that could upset the tranquilly and harmony in the community. "All posts and comments on social media platforms are being watched and monitored. According to SSP, "anyone who posts anything that is provocative and spreads hatred will face strict consequences." ACB Arrests SDH Sopore Official In Bribery Case

SRINAGAR, Jan 24: On Wednesday, the Anti-Corruption Branch announced that it had detained a sub district hospital Sopore employee for allegedly asking and taking a bribe in exchange for issuing a birth certificate. According to an official, Farooq Ahmad Misger offered a bribe of Rs. 3,600, and the ACB accepted it, leading to the arrest of Mehraj U Din Wani. According to him, Misger went to Wani to obtain a birth certificate for his daughter, and Wani, abusing his position, demanded a bribe. Senior Army officer visits forward areas in Kashmir; reviews operational preparedness

SRINAGAR: On Wednesday, officials in the Gurez sector of Jammu and Kashmir stated that a senior army officer had visited advanced areas along the Line of Control (LoC) to assess the readiness of the counter-infiltration grid ahead of Republic Day. According to reports, on Tuesday, Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai, the General Officer Commanding of the Army's 15 Corps, reviewed the operational readiness and counter-infiltration grid while touring the forward areas in the Gurez sector of Bandipora district. Due to insufficient snowfall in Kashmir's higher regions this winter, security officials are worried that terrorists may infiltrate the valley. Terrorist infiltration is less likely during the winter months as the mountain passes along the LoC are typically blocked by a lot of snowfall.But the counter-infiltration grid has increased the vigilance along the LoC due to the dry winter. When speaking with the troops, Lt Gen. Ghai urged them to stay "in a high state of operational readiness" in adverse weather and on difficult terrain. JKP on high alert to address potential incidents on Republic Day: IGP Kashmir

SRINAGAR: The people was reassured of a safe Republic Day celebration by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone Vidhi Kumar Birdhi, who said that the J&K Police and security agencies are prepared to handle any possible events. The IGP stressed the well-coordinated security measures in Srinagar and the adjacent areas, with the whole security grid maintaining watchful for the seamless conduct of Republic Day festivities, during the Full Dress Rehearsal at Bakhshi Stadium Srinagar. "The district of Srinagar and its surrounding areas have robust security measures in place. In addition, the security grid is watchful," the IGP said, emphasising the excellent cooperation between J&K Police and other law enforcement organisations.He invited everyone to join in the festivities on January 26 and stated his confidence that there wouldn't be any limitations. In an effort to promote high attendance at Republic Day activities, the IGP reaffirmed its commitment to facilitating hassle-free transportation of people to celebration locations. After long dry spell, weatherman predicts snowfall in J&K

SRINAGAR: The MeT department predicted that the extended dry period would likely come to an end this weekend, despite the fact that Kashmir and Jammu saw below-average temperatures on Wednesday due to an extreme dry cold. Between January 26 and February 1, the Meteorological (Met) department has predicted snow and/or rain in both the plains and the upper elevations. "There's some encouraging news coming up after the protracted, uninterrupted dry period. In Kashmir, snowfall is anticipated from January 26 to February 1. "Between January 28 and 29, light to moderate snowfall in lower, middle and higher reaches is likely to occur at many places while light to moderate snowfall is likely at widespread places between January 30 and 31" , a statement from the MeT department stated. Farooq, Omar leave for Saudi Arabia for Umrah

SRINAGAR: Farooq Abdullah, the president of the National Conference, and his son Omar Abdullah, who was previously a chief minister in Jammu and Kashmir, have left for Saudi Arabia to do Umrah, or the "minor Haj." The vice president of the National Conference, Omar Abdullah, shared a photo of himself and his father aboard a plane on social media. "O Allah, I intend to perform Umrah, so make it easy for me and accept it from me," wrote Omar. The two NC leaders were covered in "ehraam," which are two pieces of unstitched fabric that Muslims wear during the Haj and Umrah. JKP to conduct anti-sabotage check at railway stations

JAMMU: An anti-sabotage inspection of railway assets will be carried out by the Jammu and Kashmir police as part of a significant security stepped-up in advance of the Republic Day celebrations here. At a security review meeting held here this evening, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) for Railways Sunil Kumar issued these directives. A spokesman for the ADGP instructed all police to make sure that security devices and sniffer dogs are used to conduct anti-sabotage checks of railway stations, tracks and surrounding areas. He demanded that the overall security configuration of all the railway routes and stations in Jammu and Katra be strengthened. The ADGP obtained the required input from local General Railway Police personnel as well as a new security evaluation of the measures that had been taken. He emphasised that in order to quickly disseminate crucial and essential information, communication networks need to be expanded, made more active, and made more efficient. Upon concluding the discussions, the ADGP urged the officers to have close communication with other police wings and sister intelligence organisations in order to prevent any unfortunate incidents. The ADGP spoke with each participant and assessed the security measures implemented in their spheres of influence in light of the Republic Day celebrations and the regular and insightful information shared by various sister agencies about the threat posed by terrorists and anti-social elements. Security situation under control; infiltration a challenge: J&K DGP

SRINAGAR: Director General of Police R R Swain stated on Tuesday that although cross-border infiltration in Jammu and Kashmir continues to be a concern for the forces, the security situation is under control. "There is control over the security situation. Law and order is the most important component of security, and we believe we have managed public order on the highways, etc.," Swain told reporters at a public grievance redressal programme at Awantipora in the Pulwama region of south Kashmir. According to the DGP, security forces face difficulties dealing with cross-border infiltration. "Yes, the fact that some terrorists are entering from the outside presents a problem for us. They are entering and attempting to destroy the environment here with a few others.It is a difficulty, but we view it from various angles. We observe that fewer of our own boys are joining them, or none of them are. They can have a little following, but the general public does not. When we assert that we are in charge of the security (situation), we have that in mind," Swain continued. "About 90% of the root and origin of the problem is outside," the J&K police chief responded when asked about targeted attacks in the Union Territory. "A Pakistani who is sitting outside and is not from Jammu and Kashmir comes here in some way, perhaps via tunnel digging or infiltration, and then fights us. It presents a challenge. This presents a challenge even though their numbers have decreased. There is a problem with cross-border infiltration in Poonch-Rajouri and to some extent here as well. When things progressively become better, we'll be able to take control of it. We also hope that the people would turn them over to us," he stated. In south Kashmir, it was the DGP's first Public Grievances Redressal Programme. In addition to the Jammu region, he has spoken at such sessions in Kupwara and Srinagar in north Kashmir. Many participants in the workshop brought up various concerns, including robberies, domestic abuse, and land conflicts.
