CRPF Battalion holds free medical camp at Channi Rama

JAMMU: The 76 CRPF Battalion, in association with the J&K Health Department, arranged a free medical camp at Shiv Shakti Mandir, Channi Rama, as part of its Civic Action Programme. Under the direction of Sandeep Khirwar, IG Jammu Sector, and Ramesh Kumar, DIG Range Jammu, the camp was hosted. T.H. Khan, Commandant-76 Bn, oversaw the camp, which was set up with the intention of providing free medical care and education about healthy living habits to the area's impoverished population. A group of two medical officers, Dr. S. Sowmiya from the 76th Battalion of the CRPF and Dr. Neeyati Abrol from the Medical Camp, performed free medical examinations and gave away free medications to about 350 civilians. The Civic Action Programme was launched by DIG Jammu Range Ramesh Kumar. T.H. Khan, Commandant-76Bn, made a plea to everyone in the community to keep physically fit by engaging in regular exercise and raised awareness of the need of maintaining good cleanliness and a healthy lifestyle on this occasion. Recovered From Cockfight Competition In Punjab, Rooster To Be Brought To Court As ‘Case Property’

Chandigarh, Jan 25: When the case is heard, a cockfighter that was found during an illicit competition in the Bathinda region of Punjab a few days ago will be brought before the court as "case property." Police announced on Thursday that three of the organisers of the cockfight competition, which is a prohibited sport, in Balluana village, Bathinda, had been booked five days prior. Assistant Sub-Inspector Nirmaljit Singh stated that Rajwinder Singh, also known as Raju, was one of the three organisers, and that during a raid, police found the rooster on him.According to authorities, certain medals that were supposed to be awarded to rooster owners who won also turned up. The rooster has been transferred by the police to a local breeder, who is caring for it. Singh stated that the rooster was "case property" in the lawsuit and that "we will present the rooster in a court whenever hearing takes place in the matter." Any property that the police obtain in relation to an offence is referred to as "case property." Rajwinder Singh, Jagsir Singh, and Gurjit Singh had been arrested by the police for violating pertinent provisions of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960. According to authorities, all three have been granted bail in this case. New Delhi, Jan 17: The health ministry reported on Wednesday that although the number of active COVID-19 cases in India has decreased to 2,556, there was a daily increase of 269 new cases of the virus. Based on statistics released by the ministry at 8 am, three deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours, two of which are from Kerala and one from Maharashtra. Before December 5, the number of cases per day had fallen to double digits; however, with the appearance of a new variation and the arrival of cold weather, cases started to rise again. According to government sources, after December 5, there was a maximum one-day increase of 841 new cases recorded on December 31, 2023, or 0.2% of the peak instances recorded in May 2021. Approximately 92% of all active cases are being treated at home in isolation. According to the official source, "the currently available data suggests that the JN.1 sub-variant is not causing an exponential rise in new cases nor a surge in hospitalisation and mortality." India has previously experienced three waves of COVID-19, with the delta wave, which is expected to occur in April–June 2021, reporting the highest daily incidence of new cases and deaths.
