My aim is to put smile on common man’s face: LG Sinha

SRINAGAR: On Tuesday, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha stated that his administration's goal is to bring a smile to everyone's face and that earnest attempts have been made to improve the lives of citizens in the Union territory. In his speech during the Independence Day event held here, Sinha made this statement. In his first I-Day address as the LG of Jammu and Kashmir, Sinha noted that serious efforts had been made to promote the well-being of the populace and guarantee everyone's access to peace. "On this day three years ago, I told you that while I have no promises to make, I do have promises to uphold.I have devoted every moment of my life to upholding those commitments and bringing peace and prosperity to Jammu and Kashmir, the politician said. "Making the average person smile is my ultimate goal. In order to give all members of society - including teachers, engineers, doctors, farmers, soldiers, and labourers - a fair and equal chance for a better future and enable them to contribute to the development of an independent and self-reliant Jammu and Kashmir, Sinha said in his address. "One of the biggest dangers to peace and growth is terrorism. The idea of terrorism and separatism must be thoroughly eradicated since it is a cancer for society. We must recognise and separate the remaining components. The phrase "a terrorist has to be called a terrorist" must be abandoned when discussing terrorism. We are committed to taking decisive action against terrorism and putting the final nail in the terrorist-secessionist ecosystem, the president declared. 2023 has been dubbed the "golden year" for Jammu and Kashmir by Sinha."The successful G20 meeting, which saw massive public participation, testifies that the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir have broken their shackles and are raring to scale new height," he remarked. Representatives from 27 countries attended the summit here, according to Sinha, despite intrigues and attempts by neighbouring countries to disrupt the gathering. He claimed this was a "loud and clear message to our adversaries." "The G20 Tourism Working Group Meeting not only deepened diplomatic connections but also paved the way for new international collaborations that will aid in maximising Jammu and Kashmir's tourism potential. I'm happy to share with you that international visitor arrivals to Kashmir Valley have increased by 59% since the G20 summit in comparison to the previous year, he added. While Jammu and Kashmir saw 1.88 crore tourists in total last year, according to Sinha, 1.27 crore have already visited in the first seven months of this year. He continued, "We have received 1.27 crore tourists until July this year, another record in the tourism industry's history. The security forces' contribution to reducing terrorism in the UT was praised by the LG.
