Driver died, 6 injured in Qazigund accident

Qazigund, Sep 22 : An accident at the Levdora region of Qazigund along the Jammu-Srinagar route in the Kulgam district resulted in the death of the driver and the injuries of six family members. An official reported that a truck travelling close to the walnut factory in Qazigund collided with a vehicle with the registration number (JK06B 0901), which was travelling from Srinagar. All seven of the Echo vehicle's occupants suffered significant injuries as a result of the collision, and they were all quickly transported to the Emergency Hospital in Qazigund for treatment, he said. One of them, a driver named Maroof Ahmad Bhat, the son of Doda resident Niyaz Ahmad Bhat, passed away at the hospital, he said. He named the injured as Doda residents Mohammad Abdullah's son Ghulam Qadir Bhat, Mohammad Niyaz Bhat, Mumtaz Ahmad Bhat, Mubeena Begum, Niyaz Ahmad Bhat's wife, Mehvish Akhter, Maroof Mumtaz Bhat, and Absha Banoo, all of whom are also descendants of Ghulam Qadir Bhat.A complaint has been filed at the Qazigund Police Station under FIR number 206/23 under sections 279 and 337 of the IPC, and additional investigation has begun, according to an officer. Political parties in Kashmir welcome Mirwaiz release from house arrest

JAMMU: In order to stop the spread of dengue fever in Jammu division, the Health Department and municipal organisations are taking preventive measures, as reviewed by Chief Secretary Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta today. Principal Secretary, H&UDD, Secretary, Health and Medical Education, Commissioner, JMC, Deputy Commissioner, Director of Health, Principal, GMC, Jammu, and other important personnel were present at the meeting. World’s Largest Cedar Tree Found In J&K’s Doda: Officials

BHADERWAH, Sep 21: The largest and possibly oldest Cedar tree in the world, according to forest officials, was discovered in Chanti Bala in the Bhalessa forest area in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda region. It has a 54-foot trunk and a 35-foot breast diameter. The Panchayat Raj Institution (PRI) members urged that the location be added to a tourism map, while the officials wanted the Cedar tree's position to be listed as a heritage site. The gigantic tree, which is thought to be centuries old and is situated on the eastern hill of Gandoh tehsil's Chanti-Bala Panchayat, 124 km from Doda town, has religious importance for followers of the Nag and has been revered by the community for ages.Because of its enormous size, the tree, which was surrounded by a dense coniferous forest, was clearly different and was discovered by the field workers, Divisional Forest Officer Bhaderwah Chander Shekhar said at the site. The Deodar, commonly known as a cedar, has a trunk diameter of 54 feet and a breast size of 35 feet, according to the scientific method for estimating a tree's size. CBI Books Kendriya Vidyalaya Principal For Admitting 193 Students On Fake Certificates

New Delhi, Sep 21: According to sources, the CBI has charged the principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Waltair, with admitting 193 ineligible students on the basis of fictitious service credentials that were reportedly given by many Central government offices in exchange for kickbacks from the parents of the applicants. In relation to the admission of 124 ineligible students during the academic year 2022–23 and 69 such students for 2021–22, they claimed that the CBI had filed two FIRs against Principal S Sreenivasa Raja.According to the agency, Raja colluded with the parents of ineligible students to grant them admission into different classes without checking their applications or service certificates. Raja also allegedly received undue financial advantage through UPI to his bank accounts with the State Bank of India and the Union Bank of India. The CBI discovered the anomalies while conducting a combined surprise inspection at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Waltair on May 3 and 4, this year, to confirm the admissions provided by Raja for 2022–2023.According to the FIR, Raja colluded with the parents of ineligible students to admit ineligible pupils of various classes while receiving a financial benefit in exchange for doing so. After receiving approval from the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangthan commissioner, the action against Raja was started.
