BJP delegation meets SSP Jammu, demands enhanced security at migrant Kashmiri Pandit camps
JAMMU:On Monday, a BJP delegation paid a visit to Senior Superintendent of Police (Jammu), Vinod Kumar, and made a demand for increased security at the camps that house Kashmiri Pandits who are migrants. The BJP's Kashmir displaced unit, headed by district chief Chand Ji Bhat, submitted a memorandum outlining the demand, the party said in a statement. The delegation brought up the purported instances of car vandalism in the Jagti township and asked for increased efforts to catch the perpetrators and put preventative measures in place. Along with recommending regular and thorough night patrols at all of the Kashmiri Pandit camps in Purkhoo, Muthi, Jagti, and Nagrota, it also emphasised the urgent need to increase the number of police officers at the Jagti police post."This proactive measure aims to deter criminal activities and enhance residents' sense of security," said the delegation. In order to promote community involvement, it also suggested holding monthly campaigns on drug awareness, crime prevention, and police-public meetings. The statement praised the police official's positive response when the delegation brought up the subject of installing CCTV cameras at Jagti and other camps.
