AC approves transfer of land for Research Center, Anantnag, Budgam, Milk Processing Center

SRINAGAR: The Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology (SKUAST) Kashmir received approval from the Administrative Council (AC), which met in this location under the chairmanship of the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, to transfer land measuring 500 Kanal 11 Marla for the establishment of a research station and additional Krishi Vigyan Kendras. The meeting was attended by Dr. Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor, Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, Chief Secretary, J&K, and Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor. The Research Station will offer cutting-edge scientific tools to boost agricultural output and farmers' financial security.In addition to producing high-quality inputs like seeds, planting materials, organic goods, bio-fertilizers, livestock and poultry strains of the farmers, the establishment of the Research Station and additional Krishi Vigyan Kendra will have a significant impact on raising awareness about improved agricultural technologies through numerous extension programmes. Another noteworthy development is the permission of the transfer of 47 Kanals and 13 Marlas of land in Chadoora, Budgam, in favour of the Animal and Sheep Husbandry Department for the construction of infrastructure for milk processing. The construction of infrastructure for milk processing will have numerous positive effects on the economy, the creation of jobs, human health, food security, and agricultural practises.It will advance the dairy sector by enhancing local economies and communities as a whole. The dairy business in J&K has enormous economic potential for UT because it creates jobs and improves the quality of life for the locals. The dairy industry is expected to experience substantial expansion in the state of Utah in the next years due to rising demand for dairy products and lower per capita milk availability than in many other states with high milk potential. Security Forces Comb Through Anantnag Forest | Day 7 Of J&K Operation

Srinagar, Sept 19: Tuesday marked the seventh day of one of Jammu and Kashmir's longest anti-militancy operations, which has seen three officers and a soldier die, as security forces combed through the deep woodlands of Gadole in the Kashmir Valley's Anantnag district. On Monday, two bodies were discovered in the nearby forest. One of them was Pradeep, the soldier who was murdered by terrorists last Wednesday. Officials stated that the identity of the other has not yet been determined. For the past four days, police officials have remained silent about the operation. They think there are two or three terrorists imprisoned in the forest.The operation got off on Wednesday when terrorists murdered Deputy Superintendent of Jammu and Kashmir Police Humayun Bhat, Major Ashish Dhonchak and Colonel Manpreet Singh, commanding officer of the 19 Rashtriya Rifles. On the first day of the encounter, Pradeep vanished, and it was assumed that he had been slain. Prior to the operation, officials had claimed that drone footage had revealed a burned body close to one of the terrorist hideouts that had been destroyed. The deep wooded area with multiple cave-like hideouts, where terrorists are thought to have been hiding out since Wednesday, is being surveyed by security forces using drones and helicopters.To prevent the terrorists from infiltrating civilian neighbourhoods, the security perimeter was expanded to include the nearby Posh Kreeri region on Sunday. At a late-night event on Sunday, Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha declared that the terrorists' managers would pay a high price and that every drop of the dead security personnel's blood would be avenged. DC forewarns strict action against unfair practices in ration supply

JAMMU: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya met with representatives from the department of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) today to examine the state of ration supply and distribution in the district. During the meeting, Assistant Directors, TSOs, and Inspectors were present. The DC stressed important aspects of the ration supply chain during the meeting, such as the demand for prompt distribution, the exclusive use of electronic weighing devices, biometric verification, issuing purchase receipts, getting rid of manual paperwork, and vigorously implementing the One Nation One Ration Card initiative. The DC stressed the importance of the ration distribution process for the general population while examining each phase in detail. The DC went over each beneficiary category's status, including AAY, PHH, and NPHH. Regarding accusations of unfair practises such theft, adulteration, and underweighing, the DC expressed grave concern. He pledged to conduct surprise inspections, apply severe penalties, and pay particular attention to preserving accurate records. Fair practises must be maintained within each region of authority under the control of Tehsil Supply Officers and Inspectors. The DC also stressed the importance of teaching consumers about their rights in an effort to raise awareness among the general public. Kashmiri journalist Majid Hyderi booked under stringent PSA

SRINAGAR:Majid Hyderi, a journalist and political analyst, has been booked under the strict Public Safety Act (PSA), according to officials. Majid Hyderi was detained last week by the Jammu and Kashmir Police on suspicion of criminal conspiracy and extortion. According to them, Hyderi has been arrested under the PSA and is being held at the Kot Balwal jail in the UT's Jammu region. Hyderi, a local of the Peerbagh neighbourhood of the city, was detained late on Thursday night after police reported him in accordance with a court's directive. "FIR number 88/2023 under sections 120B, 177, 386 and 500 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered at the Sadder police station on the basis of an order issued by the JMIC court in Srinagar," police said on X.Police stated that he was detained on suspicion of criminal conspiracy, intimidation, extortion, providing false information, defamation, and other offences. The journalist and political pundit who frequently appeared on television news channels was granted bail on Saturday but was then detained again the next day for a different offence. Omar Abdullah, a former chief minister of J&K and vice president of the National Conference, referred to Hyderi's PSA arrest as extremely upsetting. The reports of #MajidHyderi's PSA imprisonment are quite upsetting. If true, this is again another example of how the current J&K administration is intolerant of any criticism. In a post on X, Abdullah said, "I don't think there is very much he and I would ever agree on because we are ideologically poles apart, but this reported detention and shift to a jail in Jammu is cruel & unnecessary." NEW DELHI, Sept 18: The success of the G20 Summit held here, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was due to the 140 crore Indians who made up the nation, not any one person or political group. As he opened the Lok Sabha debate on "Parliamentary Journey of 75 years starting from Samvidhan Sabha — Achievements, Experiences, Memories and Learnings," he greeted the delegates and guests by mentioning the federal system, diversity, and many state administrations. Cyber Crime Investigation Centre SP to join NIA on deputation basis

JAMMU: In order to join the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on a deputation basis for a period of five years, Sandeep Choudhary, SP, of the Jammu and Kashmir Police's Cyber Crime Investigation Centre for Excellence (CICE), was relieved of his duties on Monday, according to an official order. Anuj Kumar, Superintendent of Police (SP), Special Crime Wing, Jammu, was assigned the additional responsibility of SP, CICE until further orders, according to an order from Raj Kumar Goyal, Financial Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary, J&K home department. According to the order, Choudhary, an IPS officer from the 2012 batch of the AGMUT cadre, was relieved of his duties in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir so that he could accept the new assignment with the federal organisation as a result of the competent authority's approval of his entry as SP in the NIA on a deputation basis. According to the order, the officer's deputation would last for five years from the day they took over their position or until further instructions, whichever came first. Four arrested including Sarpanch in murder of youth

JAMMU, Sept 18: Police said on Monday that four people, including a sarpanch, had been detained in connection with the murder of a young man here last week. On September 14, a gun and other sharp-edged weapons were used by unidentified intruders to assassinate Sunny Saansiya inside his home in the Bishnah neighbourhood. An officer reported that police had found a motorbike used in the crime in a canal along with two sharp edged knives, a revolver and other items. The suspects have been named as Sarpanch Yuvraj Singh, Dushant Kumar, and Nasir Khan, along with Sukhdev Singh alias "Makhan," according to the police. As the investigation into the case moves further, more arrests are probably to come.Police said that Saansiya was a well-known drug dealer who had twice been jailed under the Public Safety Act (PSA). He was named as a defendant in more than a dozen NDPS Act cases that were brought by various police stations. Anantnag anti-terror operation enters 6th day

ANANTNAG: On Monday, the operation to expel militants camped out in the Gadole forest area of Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district reached its sixth day. Security forces were employing drones to locate the terrorists' hiding places in preparation for attacks on them. Manoj Sinha, the lieutenant governor of the Union Territory, has pledged to exact revenge for the deaths of the three officers in the conflict. Officials in this country claim that drone footage showed a burned body laying close to one of the terrorist hideouts that were demolished over the course of the previous five days' anti-terror operation.
