This accomplishment highlights everyone's concerted efforts to raise people' standards of living. The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has designated all 6,650 of its villages, which are spread across 285 blocks in 20 districts, as ODF Plus Model, according to a statement released by the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti on September 29.According to the claim, implementing the ODF Plus Model throughout all villages in the UT is a significant milestone because it goes beyond simply building and utilising toilets to promote cleanliness through the management of solid waste and grey water in each hamlet. "To become an ODF Plus Model village, a community must progress through the three ODF Plus stages of Aspiring, Rising, and Model. The statement reads, "A village is designated as an ODF plus Model when it achieves a condition where it is aesthetically clean with little litter and standing water, aside from competent solid and liquid waste management (SLWM) and cleanliness awareness generation initiatives. The statement went on to say that sustainability in ODF Plus requires a multi-dimensional approach that includes infrastructure development, behavioural change, community engagement, financial sustainability, technology integration, and more. It also noted that sustainability in ODF Plus is not a one-time achievement but a continuous journey. "By embracing these principles, J&K can not only sustain its ODF Plus Model status but also maintain it for generations to come, ensuring a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable future," the statement continued. Search operation launched in Rajouri

RAJOURI: Following information regarding suspicious movement, security forces began a search operation in the Kalakote woodland area in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, according to officials. According to the officials, the Broh and Soom forest belt in the Kalakote area was closed off by the Army and police for the searches. JKP organizes ‘Run for Peace’ Kashmir Marathon in Srinagar

SRINAGAR: As part of its Civic Action Programme, the Jammu and Kashmir Police held a "Run for Peace" Kashmir Marathon event at the Lake View Police Golf Course on Boulevard Road in Srinagar. The marathon course, which was set for Monday, October 2, extended from Lake View Park Golf Course (LVPGC) to Duck Park via the lovely Nishat-Foreshore road. S.J.M. Gillani, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), opened the competition, which included about 3,000 athletes from all over Jammu and Kashmir. The event had 13 distinct divisions, and a lot of students, residents, and even wheelchair-bound individuals competed. Insha Basheer, a participant, commented on the occasion, saying, "All of us students are extremely thrilled by this initiative of J&K Police. Suspected ISIS terrorist Shanawaz detained by Delhi Police

Close associate of 26/11 mastermind Hafiz gunned down in Karachi

OCT 01, 2023 : Mufti Qaiser Farooq, a close friend of Hafiz Saeed of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), was assassinated by unidentified gunmen in Karachi, Pakistan. It is believed that Hafiz Saeed was the mastermind of the 26/11 strikes in India. Another preacher with ties to Lashkar-e-Taiba, Maulana Ziaur Rahman, died earlier this month after being shot dead by two motorcycle-riding gunmen while going for a usual evening stroll in Karachi. According to sources, Pakistani agencies are working hard to portray Ziaur Rahman and Mufti Qaiser as pious leaders with no ties to Hafiz Saeed and the LeT. Previously, the head of the Khalistan Commando Force, Paramjit Singh Panjwar, who was also connected to the ISI, was also slain.In February, Bashir Peer, the launch commander of Hizbul Mujahideen and a personal friend of Syed Salahuddin, was assassinated in Rawalpindi by unidentified gunmen close to the ISI offices and the military garrison. He was wounded by a close-range shot and died immediately. The military-industrial complex in Pakistan has become uneasy as a result of Pakistan's ISI moving some of its "assets" to secure areas in the wake of these recent assassinations. The Pakistan Police classified the murder as a "terrorist attack," implying that domestic "militants" were involved. Investigators are also looking into the possibility that gang rivalry was a factor in the assassination. Rahman's murder comes after a string of assaults in Karachi on religious leaders who were all connected to terrorist organisations via the ISI and actively involved in radicalising and directing youths towards India.
