JAMMU: Senior BJP leader Devender Singh Rana declared today that the country has decided to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his unwavering and committed pursuit of inclusive growth for India, which has undergone an amazing and unprecedented metamorphosis over the previous nine years. He declared that ground-breaking projects are gathering steam and will be advanced during Prime Minister Modi's third term. CS assesses preparedness for full solarization of government buildings till 2025

JAMMU: Today, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo presided over a meeting to evaluate the state of the Union's readiness for the prime minister's goal of having rooftop solar power plants on all government buildings by December 2025, which was set during the just finished CS Conference in New Delhi. Along with the principal secretary of finance, several top officers from the relevant departments also attended the meeting, including the CEO of JAKEDA, commissioner secretary of science and technology, and others. The Chief Secretary highlighted at the beginning of the meeting the need to have a solid plan for delivering the same on time and without fail. He explained that since solar energy is more affordable and environmentally friendly, it makes sense to embrace it and take full advantage of its potential in the Utah Territory. In order to analyse the viability and potential of each government building in Utah, he suggested arranging meetings with the major participants in the market, such as NHPC, NTPC, or SECI. Dulloo requested that you hold a one-day workshop with these players and let them know that you are interested in this solarization project. During his presentation, Commissioner Secretary for Science and Technology Saurabh Bhagat disclosed that UT government offices in J&K districts have 22494 registrations under their names, with a sanctioned load of around 486 MW. It was disclosed that JAKEDA or other departments have previously solarized close to 1900 structures, totaling 27.61 MW of capacity up to this point. Furthermore, it was discovered that by putting these rooftop solar power plants in the remaining 20,000 buildings, an additional 300 MW could be added. It was also mentioned that every department is required to submit data here, including a list of their buildings, approved linked loads, rooftop area free of shadows, geo-coordinates, and other pertinent information regarding these kinds of structures.He also stated that the government is willing to offer subsidies to the organisations carrying out this activity in the UT in addition to giving the JAKEDA the necessary revolving budget for this assignment. He recommended that the department conduct a study of the selected structures over the following few weeks and then create a model contract and DPR for each district. He advised them to keep an eye out for the fruitful precedents set by other States and UTs across the nation. J P Nadda in Jammu on Sunday will discuss BJP’s LS poll strategy for J&K with leaders

JAMMU: According to a leader, BJP president J P Nadda is coming to this area on Sunday for a daylong visit to discuss and finalise the party's plan for the Jammu and Kashmir Lok Sabha election. Nadda will start his tour by paying respects at the revered Raghunath temple in the centre of the city. Later, at the party headquarters here, he will preside over a meeting of senior members led by J&K BJP president Ravinder Raina. Along with the two Member Parliaments from J&K Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh and Jugal Kishore Sharma, who have each won the party's seats in Udhampur and Jammu twice, National General Secretary Tarun Chugh, in charge of J&K, will also be present at the meeting.According to the leader mentioned earlier, the meeting's outcome will probably determine the party's Lok Sabha candidates. This decision will be made on the basis of an internal survey report that Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah received recently. He stated that the meeting's main goal would be to finalise the party's plan to oppose the INDIA bloc, which has indicated that it will field unified candidates to take on the BJP. Jammu, Jan 6: According to officials on Saturday, two brothers from Punjab have been arrested by the Jammu and Kashmir Police Crime Branch on charges of embezzling more than Rs 1.6 crore from a government department in this area. According to a spokesperson for the Jammu Crime Branch, the accused bookies, Jatin alias "Raja" and Jatinder alias "Poot," who had been avoiding capture for the previous four years, were taken into custody in the Mukerian area of Punjab. The spokesperson claimed that they were embroiled in an interstate bookie operation and embezzled money that a Jal Shakti department cashier was supposed to be collecting.He continued, "A complaint about embezzlement of Rs 1.64 crore out of the revenue collected as water charges in the city division led to the registration of a case against the accused in 2020." NIA Attaches 4 Properties Of Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi Syndicate Members In 3 States

New Delhi, Jan 6: In a significant move to break the link between terrorists, drug traffickers, and organised crime in the nation, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday annexed four properties that belonged to members of the terror-crime syndicate led by notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. One of these properties could be moved, while the other three were immovable. The Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 allowed the NIA teams in Haryana, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh to seize the properties in a coordinated operation. All of these properties, according to the NIA, are "proceeds of terrorism," used to plan terror attacks and carry out major crimes.The properties that are attached belong to Vikas Singh, who harbours the terror gang in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The properties are Flat-77/4, Ashrey-1, Sulabh Awas Yojana, Sector-1, Gomti Nagar Extension, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Two additional properties that were attached belonged to accused Dalip Kumar, also known as Bhola, Dalip Bishnoi, and were situated in the village of Bhishanpura, Fazilka, Punjab. Ragba Tedadi (Pluralistic) 59-15 in 187/2390, Hissa (share) Baqadar and Khewat No. 296 in 127/752, Ragba Tedadi (Pluralistic) 225-12 in Hissa (share) Baqadar are the two properties.Additionally, a Fortuner vehicle registered in the name of Joginder Singh, a Yamunanagar, Haryana, resident, was taken into custody. According to NIA investigations, Vikas Singh is a friend of Lawrence Bishnoi, who is suspected of harbouring terrorists, including those who may have been involved in the attack on Punjab Police Headquarters using rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs). Joginder Singh is the father of Lawrence Bishnoi's close associate, the gangster Kala Rana. By letting gang members use his Fortuner vehicle to transport weapons and ammunition for terrorist acts, Joginder Singh was aiding and abetting them.The accused Dalip Kumar's property was being used as a warehouse and shelter for the storage and concealment of weapons, as well as a place to house members of terrorist gangs. In August 2022, the NIA filed a UA(P)A case against gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his associates' organised crime syndicate. According to the agency's investigations, the gang had established criminal networks akin to the mafia throughout multiple states in the nation. In addition to large-scale extortions from businessmen and professionals, these networks were involved in numerous sensational crimes, including the murders of social and religious leaders like Pardeep Kumar and popular Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. Couple, Child Die As SUV Falls Into Deep Gorge In Reasi

JAMMU, Jan 6: In the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, an SUV carrying a couple and their three-month-old child went off the road and into a 400-foot-deep ravine on Saturday, according to police. According to them, one person was seriously hurt in the incident. According to Station House Officer Suman Singh of Chassana, three people were killed and one injured when a Bolero Camper travelling from Tulli to Chassana fell into the gorge near the Zero Point at around 12:45 p.m. According to him, the car was reduced to a twisted pile of metal, and recovering the bodies proved to be difficult for the rescuers.According to Singh, the deceased have been identified as Zahid Ahmad (27), a resident of Mahore's Balmatkote village, his wife Sayra Akhter (26), and their three-month-old child. PORTLAND, Jan 6: Not long after takeoff, a window and a portion of the fuselage of an Alaska Airlines aircraft blew out in midair, forcing an emergency landing in Oregon on Friday. A photo of a massive hole in the airplane's side next to the passenger seats was sent to KATU-TV by a traveller. It was unclear right away if anyone had been hurt. According to the airline, the aircraft, carrying 174 passengers and 6 crew members, landed safely. The airline said via email that "Alaska Airlines Flight 1282 from Portland, Oregon to Ontario, California experienced an incident this evening shortly after departure." The airline promised to provide more details as soon as they were made available.Flight tracking data indicates that the plane was diverted approximately six minutes after takeoff at 5:07 p.m. after reaching a height of 16,000 feet (4,876 metres). At 5:26 p.m., it landed once more. The crew reported a pressurisation problem, and the plane landed safely, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
