SRINAGAR: Farooq Abdullah, president of the National Conference (NC), claimed on Wednesday that the BJP has "lost" political ground and significance in Jammu and Kashmir as a result of its "anti-people policies." Speaking to party officials at the NC headquarters here, he claimed that the BJP is nonexistent in Kashmir and has lost all political clout in the province of Jammu as well. "Due to the BJP's anti-people policies, it has lost political footing and importance in both Jammu and Kashmir provinces. They made a lot of promises to the people of the Jammu province, but they didn't keep them, according to Abdullah.People in the area felt duped by the BJP after it "betrayed" their trust. He claimed that people are suffering as a result of crumbling roads, lengthy power outages, a lack of access to drinkable water, and a severe shortage of teaching staff in schools. The Lok Sabha representative for Srinagar claimed that Jammu and Kashmir has endured various plots and schemes to erode its distinctive culture and history and that the NC will never permit the apologies of sectarian parties' proxies to sow division among the populace in order to further their short-term electoral and political goals. Div Com reviews progress on Jammu City beautification

Jammu : Ramesh Kumar, the divisional commissioner, presided over a meeting today to assess how the beautification plan for Jammu City has been carried out. The Div Com began by thoroughly reviewing the ongoing construction and development projects carried out in the city. The Div Com examined the work done on the grounds of Bahu Fort. The Div Com was informed by CEO JSCL and VC JDA that the majority of the work has been finished, while the finishing work is still being done. The Div Com instructed JSCL and JDA to speed up the ongoing projects and make sure they are finished in time for the impending Navratras. The PWD officials updated the Div Com on the progress of blacktopping projects in the city as they reviewed road construction work. By patching potholes on city roadways, the Div Com instructed PWD to maintain good road upkeep. He also examined ongoing Jammu Smart City Limited projects, and the CEO of Smart City provided updates on the progress of blue green projects, the creation of rotaries, and other matters. The Div Com emphasised improved sanitation, branch trimming along dividers, good upkeep of city parks, etc. To improve Jammu city's overall aesthetics, the Div Com emphasised the significance of keeping cleanliness and making sure rubbish is removed promptly. The Div Com gave the relevant authorities the directive to concentrate on beautifying the area along the airport road that leads to Jammu University and the Bahu Fort area, given the importance of several sites in Jammu City.The maintenance and planting of flowers in the pots placed at Tawi bridges was the responsibility of the Floriculture Department. The Divisional Commissioner emphasised the need of infrastructure upkeep and the need to keep public thoroughfares clear of impediments. In order to reduce traffic congestion, he also emphasised the necessity of properly pruning trees that are near roads, followed by their prompt removal. The Divisional Commissioner stressed the need of efficient traffic flow and gave the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) personnel instructions to speed up the current construction on the last section of the Jammu-Akhnoor Road Project.He emphasised the necessity to keep the route maintained for easy traffic movement. The Div Com also emphasised the importance of planting along the route, particularly beneath the flyover. The Divisional Commissioner also demanded that construction debris that builds up on the roads during and after the completion of infrastructure development projects be removed right away. The order was intended to keep the city clean and prevent any inconveniences or obstacles to the general public brought on by the waste. The Divisional Commissioner underlined the necessity to complete the wall painting projects as soon as possible in order to give residents and visitors alike an appealing visual experience. Rahul Yadav, the Commissioner of JMC, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, the Deputy Commissioner of Jammu, Vivekanand Rai, the Director of Tourism, and Chief Engineer also attended the meeting. Truck catches fire on Jmu-Sri NH

BANIHAL : On Wednesday, a cement-filled truck travelling along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Jammu and Kashmir's Ramban area caught fire, according to officials. Neither the driver nor his assistant were wounded in the incident, which happened close to Maroog at around 1:30 pm and briefly slowed down traffic, according to the authorities. They said that fire and emergency personnel arrived on the spot right away and put out the flames. The truck was travelling from Jammu to Kashmir. POONCH: On the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, the Indian Army killed two terrorists and thwarted an attempt to infiltrate the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. According to Lieutenant Colonel Suneel Bartwal, PRO Defence, "Two terrorists were observed crossing Line of Control coming towards own side on night of 5 and 6 September in Mandi sub-sector of Poonch District."
