BJP lost moral ground to stand before people of Kargil: Omar

KARGIL: Omar Abdullah, vice president of the National Conference, claimed on Saturday that the BJP no longer has the moral authority to defend itself in front of the Kargil residents following the August 2019 division of Jammu and Kashmir. In a speech to supporters before the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council-Kargil election on October 4, he criticised the BJP for failing to represent Muslims and for placing its MP Ramesh Bidhuri in charge of the election-bound Tonk district in Rajasthan rather than disciplining him for his "anti-Muslim speech" in the Lok Sabha. Despite making up 14% of the nation's population, Abdullah claimed that for the first time since the country's independence, there isn't a single Muslim minister in the Central government. They openly display their disdain for Muslims. Before coming here to solicit for votes, they must respond to questions,'' Abdullah added.
