SSP inaugurates Cyber Cell at PS Rajouri

RAJOURI: To detect and prevent cybercrimes, SSP Rajouri, Amritpal Singh, opened a Cyber Cell on the Police Station Rajouri grounds. During his recent visit to the Cyber Police Station in Jammu, ADGP Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, assessed the difficulties the public has in travelling to Jammu from remote places to report cybercrimes, and he made the decision to establish cyber cells in each district headquarters. Cyber cells are being set up in practically every district per Jain's orders with the goal of handling complaints about cybercrimes, providing prompt and professional responses, and guaranteeing high-quality investigations of such crimes. This recently established cyber cell, which includes resources like contemporary workspace for information officers with high-speed internet and data access, will operate around-the-clock to detect and prevent cybercrimes. Its scope includes issues such as bank fraud, hacking, sexual harassment and abuse, activities carried out through social media, such as the creation of fictitious social media profiles, cyber threats, and crimes covered by the Information Technology Act of 2000. Districts must conduct sufficient awareness campaigns to educate the public about cybercrimes and the precautions that can be taken to avoid them. In order to facilitate online complaint registration, Cyber Cell Rajouri has also established a dedicated email address, Cybercell-rajouri@jkpolice.gov.in.
