BATHINDA: Superintendent of Police (SP) Gurvinder Singh Sanga has been placed on leave. He was on duty on January 5, 2022, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi's convoy's security was breached in Ferozepur. As the SP of Ferozepur, Gurvinder Sanga was in charge at the time of the incident. After the event, a thorough investigation was started, and the case from the previous year is currently being handled. UDHAMPUR: According to police, a kutcha house collapsed in ward number one of Pattangarh Panchayat of Udhampur District in Jammu and Kashmir, leaving one person dead and another injured. The incident was verified by Udhampur ASP Anwar Ul Haq, who stated, "One person has been confirmed dead and another is injured." He added that after learning about the incident, a police squad raced to the scene and removed the injured person from the rubble. For medical attention, the injured party has been moved to Chenani's Community Health Centre. According to ASP Anwar Ul Haq, more research is being done to determine what caused the house to collapse.In the state of Jammu and Kashmir, deaths from houses collapsing are not uncommon. Cold Wave Conditions Prevail As Night Temp Dips In Kashmir

Srinagar, Nov 25: Saturday saw the return of cold wave conditions, with most locations seeing minimum temperatures below freezing. The Kashmir valley had seen a brief reprieve earlier in the week. The weather slightly improved on Friday, but on Saturday, there was a cold wave throughout the valley as the minimum temperature dropped below freezing again in most places, including Srinagar. According to the Meteorological Centre Srinagar's forecast, the next 24 hours are likely to be mostly cloudy and dry. It stated that November 27 and 28 would also see mostly cloudy weather.The MeT office stated that from November 29 to 30, there is a chance of light rain or snow in certain higher areas of Jammu and Kashmir. It also stated that from December 1 to 5, the weather will stay partly to mostly cloudy. The MeT office stated that there is a good chance of shallow to moderate fog over many areas of Kashmir Division through November 28. On Saturday, Srinagar recorded a low of -1.0°C, which was -1.1°C below average for this time of year in the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir.Pahalgam, the tourist hotspot in the Kashmir valley, continued to be the coldest place in the valley with a low of -3.4°C on Saturday, -1.0°C below average. On Saturday, the minimum temperature in Qazigund, on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway, was -0.8°C, while Kokerng recorded 1.5°C. Kupwara's temperature of -0.5°C was typical for the district of North Kashmir on the frontier. Large number of people pay last respects to Captain M V Pranjal in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: In moving scenes, a sizable crowd paid their final respects to Captain M V Pranjal, who was killed in action against terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. On Friday night, his mortal remains were transported by air to Bengaluru and then brought to his parents' residence in the nearby Anekal Taluk. Paying respects, mourners filed past Capt. Pranjal's body. Opposition Leader R Ashoka and Rural Bangalore MP D K Suresh were among those who paid respect to the deceased and sent their condolences to the family today. Following a wreath-laying ceremony, the state government and the Army presented Pranjal with a guard of honour.For the final ceremonies, his mortal remains will be carried in a procession to a crematorium in Kudlu Gate. The wife and parents of the 29-year-old member of the 63 Rashtriya Rifles who died on Wednesday during a firefight with terrorists in the Rajouri sector are still alive. Following his remains' arrival here last night, Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah paid their final respects at HAL Airport. Siddaramaiah, expressing condolences, said the family of the martyr would receive Rs 50 lakh. World Heritage Week: Ajatshatru Singh visits Dogra Art Museum

JAMMU: Senior BJP leader and former minister Ajatshatru Singh expressed delight and happiness that the Dogra Art Museum and Archives Reference Library contained important documents. He also stated that he is actively working to further enhance this repository in order to protect the priceless legacy for future generations. Ajatshatru Singh visited the Dogra Art Museum and Archives Reference Library, Mubarak Mandi, as part of World Heritage Week. Singh toured the library and museum, demonstrating a deep interest in the materials on display and their superb preservation.Assistant Director of the Archives Reference Library Dr. Sangeeta Sharma gave him a detailed briefing on the rare saved documents housed in this important and prestigious library. Speaking to the media, Singh revealed that, while reviewing several documents containing contributions from the Dogra kings, particularly Maharaja Hari Singh, he became quite emotional. He claimed that while the general public is only aware of the courage displayed by the Dogra rulers, they should also be aware of the other enormous contributions these rulers made to the welfare of the people living in this former State. "Only when such rare documents and information are preserved properly will the future generations learn about it," said Singh. In order to ensure that future generations recognise the importance of their ancestors' legacy and the debt of respect they owe us, he further pledged to use all of his resources to expand the collection of rare and valuable documents in this repository. Indian Army’s K9 awarded for tracking down Pakistani terrorists during Rajouri encounter

RAJOURI: The Northern Army Commendation Card was given to Indian Army dog Domino and his handler Lance Naik Lucky Kumar for finding a Pakistani terrorist during their recent encounter in Rajouri. Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi immediately presented them with their awards after Domino tracked down the terrorists' hiding places by following their blood trail. This made it easier for the security personnel to find and eliminate the threat. Awarded to Indian Army personnel for gallantry, distinguished service, or devotion to duty is the Northern Army Commendation Card.After being hurt in a gunfight, Domino helped the troops locate the terrorists' hideout by following his blood trail in the Kalakote area, according to Indian Army officials. On Friday, Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi, the commander of the Northern Army, visited the Kalakote area in Rajouri to review the operational situation following the encounter that resulted in the elimination of two Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists, including its top commander, and the deaths of five Indian Army personnel while performing their duties. According to Army officials, the Lieutenant General was briefed on the operation. Two Army Captains and five soldiers were killed in the gunfight that continued from Wednesday.In the Dharamsala neighbourhood of Bajimaal, there was a confrontation between terrorists and a joint team of the Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police. It was revealed that Quari was the top LeT commander. The army also disclosed that significant amounts of "War Like Stores" had been found at the location of the encounter. Quari was notorious for masterminding a number of attacks, such as the one in which six defenceless civilians were killed on January 23 in Dangri, and the attacks in Rajouri's Poonch areas known as the Kandi attacks. According to an army official, his removal deals a serious blow to the resurgence of terrorism in these areas. Meanwhile, army officers and soldiers were seen paying their final respects to their fallen comrades in heartbreaking images from Friday's wreath-laying ceremony. Northern Army commander reviews operational situation in Rajouri

RAJOURI: On Friday, Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi, the commander of the Northern Army, visited the Kalakote area of the Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir and assessed the state of operations there. The visit occurred the day after security forces in Rajouri's Darmsal area shot and killed two foreign terrorists from the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) group, including the mastermind of several attacks. The gunfight lasted 36 hours. Five soldiers lost their lives in the gunfight: Lance Naik Sanjay Bisht, Paratrooper Sachin Laur, Hav Abdul Majid, Capt. M V Pranjal, and Capt. Shubham Gupta."Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi, Army Commander Northern Command, visited Kalakote area in Rajouri and reviewed the operational situation," the Army's Northern Command stated on X.
