SRINAGAR: Today, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha oversaw the cleaning and weeding effort at Dal Lake as part of the One Hour of Citizen-Led Shramdaan for Swachhata programme. ATF price increased by 5 percent, commercial LPG by Rs 209

NEW DELHI, Oct 1: On Sunday, the price of jet fuel, or ATF, was increased by 5%, marking the fourth consecutive monthly increase since July. In addition, the cost of commercial cooking gas, or LPG, was sharply increased by Rs 209 per 19-kg cylinder, in keeping with the firming up of international benchmarks. However, the cost of residential LPG, which is used to cook in domestic kitchens, remained constant at Rs 903 per 14.2-kg cylinder. According to a price statement from state-owned fuel dealers, the price of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) increased by Rs 5,779.84 per kilolitre, or 5.1%, in the national capital to Rs 118,199.17 per kl from Rs 112,419.33.The hike follows the largest increase ever of 14.1% (Rs 13,911.07 per kilo) on September 1 and an increase of 8.5% (Rs 7,728.07 per kilo) on August 1. The burden on already struggling airlines will grow as a result of the fourth consecutive increase in jet fuel prices, which account for 40% of an airline's operating expenses. ATF price increased by 1.65% or Rs 1,476.79 per litre on July 1. ATF prices have increased by a record Rs 29,391.08 per kiloliter in just four rises.In addition, oil companies increased the cost of commercial LPG, which is used in places like hotels and restaurants, by Rs 209. In the national capital and Mumbai, a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder will now set you back Rs 1,731.50 and Rs 1,684, respectively. The benchmark for LPG pricing, the Saudi contract price (CP), has climbed as a result of the recent firming trend in crude oil prices brought on by supply concerns.Oil firms did not alter the price of 14.2-kg cylinders after cutting residential LPG rates on August 30 by Rs 200 per 14.2-kg cylinder. The prices of cooking gas and ATF are revised by the state-owned Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) on the first of every month based on the monthly average international price. For an unprecedented 18th consecutive month, the price of petrol and diesel remained frozen. In the nation's capital, a litre of petrol costs Rs 96.72 and a litre of diesel costs Rs 89.62.Since April 6, 2022, state-owned gasoline retailers have not updated their daily petrol and diesel prices, which are based on a 15-day rolling average of benchmark international fuel prices. REASI: Along with the Deputy Commissioner and other officers, Chief Secretary Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta today visited the site of the world's tallest steel arch rail bridge in the district of Reasi, which is almost finished. In the presence of the engineers from the executing agency and executives from Indian Railways, Dr. Mehta conducted a thorough examination of this construction on this particular day. He implied that the District has a great chance to draw a lot more visitors to its historic and natural sites.He claimed that the region has a wealth of well-known tourist attractions, including the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine, Shiv Khori, Salal Dam, and Bhimgarh Fort, which presents a significant chance to maximise its potential by enhancing these attractions and putting them on the national tourism radar. NEW DELHI: Sankalp Saptaah, a novel week-long project for the nation's Aspirational Blocks, was introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday at Bharat Mandapam in the nation's capital. The successful execution of the Aspirational Blocks Programme (ABP) is related to "Sankalp Saptaah." On January 7, 2023, the PM announced the nationwide programme. It seeks to elevate citizens' quality of life through enhancing block-level government. In 500 Aspirational Blocks spread throughout 329 districts across the nation, it is being implemented. CS reviews developmental scenario of District Samba

SAMBA: In district Samba today, CS Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta undertook a thorough evaluation of ongoing development projects and landmark efforts covering many sectors. The main goal of the conference was to evaluate the state of the district's ongoing development initiatives and various schemes. Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar, SSP Samba Benam Tosh, and the leaders of several departments and divisions operating inside the district were present during the meeting. RBI clarifies that last date for exchanging Rs 2,000 notes is tomorrow

NEW DELHI: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) made it clear on Friday that the Rs 2,000 denomination currency will lose all of its value after Saturday and become simply another piece of paper if it is not exchanged in a bank. Since the central bank decided to stop issuing the high-value note in May, almost 93% of the Rs 2,000 banknotes have been returned to the banking system, according to information released by the RBI earlier in the month.The public was instructed to swap or deposit their Rs. 2,000 notes at local RBI branches and bank branches. Any bank branch allowed non-account holders to exchange up to 20,000 rupees worth of Rs 2000 notes at once. However, the RBI had instructed banks to cease issuing these currencies right now. The introduction of the Rs 2000 denomination banknote in November 2016 served largely to quickly address the economy's need for money following the loss of the legal tender status of all Rs 500 and Rs 1000 banknotes in use at the time.After sufficient supplies of notes in other denominations became available, the goal of launching Rs 2000 banknotes was achieved. JAMMU, Sept 28: The Jammu Smart City won the Urban Environment category of the India Smart Cities Awards Contest (ISAC) 2022 for its successful e-mobility project, which includes the operation of eAutos and eRickshaws.
