Online fraudster held from Ajmer for cheating Doda Teacher
DODA: An online scammer from Ajmer, Rajasthan was apprehended by police here for defrauding a government teacher in Kastigarh Doda, Rajasthan, out of Rs. 11,67,220. According to the handout, the Doda Police have apprehended the Ajmer-based online scammer who was sought in connection with the FIR number 237/2023 filed at the Doda Police Station for the online deception of a teacher. According to the case, on October 29, 2023, a government teacher named Showket Ali, who lives in Bibrota, Tehsil Kastigarh, filed a written complaint at Police Station Doda. In the complaint, he stated that he met someone on Facebook named Shahrukh Noor Mohd, the son of Noor Mohd, who lives in Jhunjhun, Rajasthan, and who deceived him, taking $11,67,220 from him.In this regard, a Police Station Doda filed a case under relevant sections (FIR number 237/2023), and the Police then activated sources to capture the fraudster. A Police party, led by SI Mohd Shafi and overseen by Jaswant Singh, DySP Hqrs Doda, was then dispatched to Ajmer, where the fraudster was apprehended. The case was still being investigated. The public has been urged by the police to be wary of fraudsters and online cheaters, to avoid answering calls from strangers, and to withhold personal information and one's OTP from strangers they may come into contact with.
