JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar presided over a meeting today to talk about ways to improve the use of the JDA bus stop and decongest the BC road. Commissioner JMC, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Transport Commissioner, SSP Jammu, SSP Traffic Jammu, VC JDA, RTO Jammu, General Manager RTC, and other relevant personnel attended the meeting. There were also Tempo-Traveller Association representatives in attendance. Following a terse conversation, the Div Com requested that the RTO assign departure-de-boarding bays for buses travelling on intra-state and interstate routes. The Division gave the order to include all relevant parties in the decongestion of BC Road. He gave the go-ahead for the appropriate departments to start awareness campaigns about optimising the JDA Bus Stand by simplifying and regulating parking.In order to prevent traffic jams, he also gave the order to undertake enforcement drives to remove unauthorised parking along BC Road. In order to establish appropriate ticketing counters for passengers travelling to other states, the Div Com instructed General Manager RTC to get in touch with his counterparts in other states. The stakeholders were also requested to take action to fully operationalize the Narwal Inter-Sate Bus Terminal.
