JAMMU: Two BSF troops were hurt in unprovoked cross-border firing at a forward station along the Indo-Pak border here, and as a result, the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Pakistan Rangers have submitted a protest, according to officials on Friday. At a commandant-level flag meeting on Thursday night at a border outpost (BoP) along the International Border (IB) in the R S Pura sector, the BSF and Pakistan Rangers discussed the matter, according to a statement. According to sources, two BSF troops were hurt on Tuesday when border guards along the IB at the Vikram BoP in the Arnia sector were the target of “unprovoked firing” by Pakistan Rangers.The topic of drug smuggling across the border was also brought up by BSF personnel during the conference. They claimed to have visual proof of drug traffickers being slain by the police. Pakistan Rangers denied any participation, as usual, they said.
