JAMMU : According to government reports, on Saturday, BSF forces opened fire with a few warning shots when a group of individuals escorted by Pakistan Rangers approached the international border near this location. Requests for a formal statement regarding the event in the Arnia area of R S Pura sector were made repeatedly, but the Border Security Force (BSF) did not return calls or messages. The sources state that at noon, a BSF jawan fired two warning shots when a group of more than twenty persons entered Indian land with a herd of bovine animals and three Pakistan Rangers men with them.The reports added that the people went back to the Pakistani side and that there was no reprisal from the other side. On October 17, unprovoked shooting by Pakistani troops on an Indian position in Arnia resulted in the injuries of two BSF men. At a flag meeting on Thursday at the commandant level, the BSF voiced a strong objection alongside the Pakistan Rangers.
