SRINAGAR: The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has initiated snow clearance along the Baltal-Domail road, the primary route leading to Amarnath Cave Shrine in Ganderbal district. A BRO spokesperson highlighted the significance of this initiative in ensuring the smooth journey of Amarnath pilgrims. “This year marks a significant milestone as we embark on the snow clearance operation along the Baltal to Domail track for the first time,” he said. Initially entrusted to the Roads and Buildings Department, the road construction mandate eventually transitioned to BRO upon its completion. “To alleviate any potential challenges for pilgrims, the administration initiated road construction from Baltal to Domail last year,” he said. With machinery deployed by Beacon and supported by diligent labourers, efforts have been underway for the past three days to clear the snow along the Baltal-Domail track. “Completion of this snow clearance operation is imminent, contingent upon favourable weather conditions,” he said.
