New Delhi, Sep 22: Ramesh Bidhuri, a member of the BJP in the Lok Sabha, was given a show-cause notice on Friday after using derogatory language in front of Danish Ali, an MP for the Bahujan Samaj Party, during a debate about the success of the Chandrayaan mission. According to BJP sources, the party has asked the South Delhi MP for a response about his use of improper language. Ali was the target of insults from Bidhuri during his speech in the Lok Sabha on Thursday. Later, Speaker Om Birla deleted those words.Rajnath Singh, a minister for the Union, expressed regret at Bidhuri’s comments. Following the virality of the video featuring Bidhuri’s contentious allusions to the Muslim MP, the opposition parties called for harsh punishment against him, including expulsion from the House. Speaker Birla has admonished him and threatened harsh punishment if the offence is committed again. (Agencies)
