‘Bhrashtachar Mukt J&K’ week concludes on a high note

SRINAGAR: The “Bhrashtachar Mukt J&K” week, which started on September 4th, ended today with a flourish. The week-long anti-corruption campaign reaffirms the government’s dedication to honest, open, corrupt-free, and responsive governance. During the closing programme, Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, the Chief Secretary, spoke with each of the Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police. The Chief Secretary was informed that over 46000 activities, including camps, seminars, and workshops, were hosted at the Panchayat, Block, and District levels during the week-long campaign. The events largely centred on raising awareness about various government efforts, such as e-tendering and online services, which have greatly contributed to a transparent and corrupt-free system. The “Bhrashtachar Mukt J&K” week has given the general public the chance and a platform to lodge any concerns they may have regarding corruption with the right authorities in order to receive an appropriate and timely resolution. Over the course of the week, all districts received about 39000 complaints or concerns, of which about 35000 were of a sort that could be resolved right away. The admiration of the populace and the beneficial effects of the online services launched by the government, not only in providing such services to the public at the click of a button but also in reducing corrupt practises, have been two main takeaways from the week-long campaign. The Chief Secretary emphasised that these initiatives to combat corruption and answer all legitimate complaints should continue until the start of the vigilance week beginning on October 31. He proceeded by saying that ongoing efforts should be made to continue educating the public about online services and providing resources to assist the average person in becoming accustomed to using them. Dr. Mehta made it clear to those in question that any complaints submitted through IGRAMS must be handled appropriately and in a timely manner. He emphasised the importance of continuing these conversations on corruption on the first Monday of every month in each panchayat.Additionally, as young people are the agents of change, seminars and courses should be offered in schools and colleges. The Chief Secretary acknowledged the many proposals made throughout the campaign and promised that the issues identified, such as the public’s ignorance of the PSGA schedule, would be addressed appropriately. The Chief Secretary urged the Officers to follow the policies and legal requirements in order to prevent complaints and fight corruption. In order to achieve a Nasha Mukt and a society devoid of terror, he emphasised that a corrupt-free society is the best course of action.
