My aim is to end hatred in the country, Modi needs to be defeated for it : Rahul

HYDERABAD: Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress, stated on Tuesday that he wants to eradicate hatred in the nation and that Prime Minister Narendra Modi must be defeated at the Centre to achieve this goal. He claimed that Modi, the RSS, and "hardliners" had instilled hatred across the nation while speaking at an election rally in Nampally, this place. In his Bharat Jodo Yatra speech, he cited Congress's slogan of "opening a'mohabbat ki dukaan' (shop of love) in the 'nafrat ke bazaar' (market of hate)". He also mentioned that, as he battles Modi, 24 cases have been filed against him in various states, and the courts have summoned him on occasion. "The first time, I was sentenced to two years in prison for defamation. My membership in the Lok Sabha was cancelled. They took my government house. I expressed my distaste for it. "My home is in the hearts of the nation's crores of impoverished people," he declared. In a 2018 defamation case, Gandhi was summoned by an MP-MLA court in Uttar Pradesh on Monday due to allegedly "objectionable" remarks he made about Union minister Amit Shah. Rahul Gandhi did not mention being summoned by the Uttar Pradesh court during his speech at the rally held at Nampally. "The fight is ideological and I cannot compromise on it," Gandhi stated. He questioned how many cases AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi had against him, attacking the latter. Gandhi questioned whether any agency was supporting Owaisi, alleging that the ED and CBI, among other agencies, were always behind him.He asserted that the reason the AIMIM president supports Modi is the reason there isn't a case against Owaisi. Additionally, he charged that AIMIM was fielding its candidates to harm the Congress and assist the BJP in a number of states. Rahul Gandhi stated, "My goal is to eradicate hatred in the nation, and in order to do so, Modi should be defeated in Delhi." He stated that K Chandrasekhar Rao, the chief minister of Telangana and president of the BRS, needs to lose in Telangana before Modi can be defeated in Delhi. He claimed that the BRS, BJP, and AIMIM were collaborating together and cited the BRS's parliamentary support for the Modi administration. In addition, he tried to find out if KCR was the target of any cases. "He (KCR) runs the most corrupt government," he stated. He said that KCR and AIMIM are not supported by organisations like ED, CBI, or IT. [caption id="attachment_6318" align="alignnone" width="300"] My aim is to end hatred in the country, Modi…

Manual drilling at Silkyara tunnel on, Uttarakhand CM says pipes inserted up to 52 metres

UTTARKASHI: Up to 52 metres of pipes have been placed through the debris at the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarakhand. As efforts to free the 41 workers who are trapped there continue for the seventeenth day, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated on Tuesday. He informed reporters in Silkyara that the breakthrough point is 57 metres. Since Monday, twelve rat-hole mining specialists have been working horizontally through the final 10 or 12 metres of debris from the partially collapsed section of the under-construction tunnel on the Char Dham route in Uttarakhand. A massive auger machine that was drilling earlier became trapped in the debris on Friday at a depth of about 47 metres. Chris Cooper, the leader of the L&T team, stated early on Tuesday that "we have just crossed 50 metres."It gave rise to hopes of an early evacuation because the rescuers only needed to go ten metres to gain an advantage. The speed of the operation, however, is contingent upon whether the rescuers face any obstacles during the excavation process, which is frequently complicated by various factors. Subsequently, Chief Minister Dhami declared, "Pipe has gone in up to 52 metres," during a visit to the rescue operation site. It was 51 metres earlier. In front of me, it was propelled one metre farther. After pushing it two more metres to a height of 54 metres, one more pipe will be installed." In response to a question about potential obstacles, he stated that there were no steel or iron girders in the way. The chief minister remarked, "Stones are getting in the way, but cutters are breaking them." 800-mm diameter pipes are being inserted through the rubble by an auger machine while a competent team of labourers removes muck by hand using the rat-hole mining technique. 51 metres have been drilled, according to Praveen Yadav, who is in charge of cutting and removing the obstacles from the rubble. According to a worker from the Trenchless company, which is pushing the pipes with the auger machine, some positive news should be available by this evening if no obstacles are encountered. In the contentious and dangerous practise known as "rat-hole mining," miners work in small groups to extract tiny amounts of coal by descending small burrows. Neeraj Khairwal, the nodal officer for the Uttarakhand government, made it apparent that the men being brought to the site were not rat-hole miners but rather specialists in the field. They will probably be split up into two or three-person teams. For brief intervals, each team will enter the steel chute that is part of the escape route. Expert in drilling rat holes Rajput Rai explained that one man will drill the hole, another will gather the debris with his hands, and a third will load it onto a trolley so it can be removed.

Govt May Consider Introducing Legal Safeguards For Healthcare Workers: Panel

New Delhi, Nov 28: A parliamentary panel has stated that the government may think about enacting suitable legal protections for healthcare professionals, who occasionally experience violence from family members or companions of patients. A memorandum submitted by various medical associations asked the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs, chaired by BJP member Brij Lal, to introduce provisions under Clause 115 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) to penalise acts of violence against healthcare service personnel. The committee then examined the three proposed criminal laws. In its report, the committee stated that evidence was presented to the panel indicating that, in contrast to other professions, healthcare workers are susceptible to “violent attacks” from patient relatives in situations where patients pass away while receiving treatment.The medical associations informed the committee that there is a need to establish some legal protections for healthcare workers because violent attacks against them are common across the nation. The Union Home Ministry responded by saying that there is no distinction made in the penal laws for any class of people and that all are subject to the general penal provisions. The home ministry emphasised that everyone is equal in the eyes of the law. The state has a duty to safeguard the lives of all of its citizens, including medical professionals and other professionals like advocates, bankers, chartered accountants, and media personnel.The home ministry noted that making special provisions for physicians and other health care workers might lead to demands of a similar nature from other professions, including advocates, bankers, chartered accountants, and members of the media. The committee was also advised by the home ministry that the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is considering introducing a "Medical Professionals Act" to protect healthcare workers from violent attacks. The home ministry promised to get an update from the Ministry on this matter.The committee stated that it "opines that the government may consider introducing appropriate legal safeguards for healthcare workers after considering the concerns of the healthcare personnel." According to Clause 115 of the BNS, anyone who intentionally causes harm will be punished with either type of imprisonment for a term that may not exceed seven years, as well as a fine, if the harm is grievous harm that he intends to cause or knows himself to be likely to cause.Along with the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS-2023) and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA-2023) bills, the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS-2023) bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha on August 11. The three proposed laws aim to supersede the Indian Evidence Act of 1872, the Indian Penal Code of 1860, and the Code of Criminal Procedure Act of 1898, in that order. Sikhs of America said in a statement released on Monday that gurdwaras are houses of worship and shouldn't be associated with any particular political viewpoint. During his address, Sandhu—who was joined by the consul general of India in New York, Randhir Jaiswal, and the deputy consul general, Varun Jeph—highlighted the expansion of the alliance between the US and India in the fields of healthcare, energy, IT, new and developing technologies, semiconductors, and education. The Indian envoy also discussed the historical connections between Afghanistan, Sikhs, and Sikh Gurus. He mentioned that Afghan Sikhs have demonstrated how to overcome hardships.
