Imphal (Manipur), Jan 15: The second day of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra resumed from Imphal West in Manipur in the early hours of Monday. After starting in Sekmai and continuing to Kangpokpi and Senapati in Manipur, the Yatra will come to an end at night in Nagaland. "Day 2 of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra began bright and early at 7:30am with the traditional flag hoisting by Seva Dal at the campsite," stated Congress national secretary Jairam Ramesh in a post published on X today. Keisham Meghachandra, Manipur's PCC President, raised the flag. The yatra will go from Sekmai to Kangpokpi, Senapati in Manipur, and finally a nighttime stop in Nagaland.Supriya Shrinate, the party's social media spokeswoman, posted on X "We're ready to fight back against all injustices, shouting for justice." NEW DELHI, Jan 15: The health ministry announced on Monday that there had been 272 new instances of Covid in India, bringing the total number of active cases down to 2,990. The ministry's statistics, which was updated at 8 am, shows that no deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours. Up until December 5, 2023, the number of daily cases had fallen to double digits; however, following the introduction of a new variation and the occurrence of cold weather, they started to rise again. On December 31, 2023, 841 new cases were reported in a single day, accounting for 0.2% of the peak instances reported in May 2021, according to government sources. In all, there are currently 92% of active cases that are being treated at home by specialists.According to the sources, "the data that is currently available suggests that the JN.1 variant is not causing an exponential rise in new cases nor a surge in hospitalisation and mortality." Three waves of COVID-19 have hit India in the past; the Delta wave, which is expected to peak in April–June 2021, is known to have the highest daily rate of new cases and deaths. On May 7, 2021, the number of new cases and deaths was 4,14,188, the highest ever. Over 4.5 crore people have been infected and over 5.3 lakh people have perished nationwide as a result of the epidemic since it started in early 2020.According to the ministry's website, nearly 4.4 crore individuals have recovered from the illness, meaning that the country's recovery rate is 98.81 percent. New Delhi, Jan 15: According to the sources, the Aviation Security Agency has opened a probe into the claim that a passenger struck an IndiGo pilot at the Delhi airport as the pilot was reporting a flight delay. On Sunday, January 14, at about 1:00 pm, an incident took place within flight number 6E 2175, which was travelling from Delhi to Goa. Anup Kumar, the co-pilot, was seen hitting an irate passenger in a now-viral video as he was informing the passengers about flight delays. The guy was eventually identified as Sahil Katariya. Announcing delays is what the captain is seen doing in the video. The passenger approaches the skipper and gives him a face slap while sporting a yellow jacket.Immediately, a flight attendant who was standing next to the captain steps in to help him and tries to diffuse the situation by standing in front of him. Then, as confusion grows throughout the compartment, another man pulls the passenger from behind. The man causing the disturbance appears to be heading back to his seat while the flight attendant can be heard yelling, "You can't do this; you can't do this." The security agency announced that an inquiry has been opened into the widely shared video, which showed a passenger punching IndiGo pilot Anup Kumar during a delayed flight (6E-2175) from Delhi to Goa because of fog. After receiving a report from the airline, the Delhi police promised to take the proper action.According to the Delhi Police, Anup Kumar, the copilot of Indigo Flight 6E2175, and security arrived at the police station and filed a complaint about Sahil Katriya, a passenger, who had abused and misbehaved with the copilot on Flight No. 6E2175 on January 14, 24 from Delhi to Goa. He misbehaved while in flight, striking the copilot and causing disturbances within the aircraft. Anup Kumar, the co-pilot, has filed a complaint in this respect. A case under FIR no. 32/24 u/s 323/341/290 IPC and 22 aircraft rules has been filed based on a complaint, and an inquiry has been launched.According to government regulations on disruptive passengers, which were published in 2017, the pilot must file a complaint if the airline discovers that a passenger is acting belligerent. The complaint will then be looked into by an internal panel. The airline may suspend the passenger for up to 30 days while conducting the investigation. Within thirty days, the committee must make a decision and indicate how long the flyer can be prohibited from being distributed.
