Police seizes property of drug dealer in Samba

SAMBA: The District Administration and the police carried out a well-planned operation on Monday that resulted in the seizure of a drug dealer's one-story home property in the Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir, marking the first such crackdown in history. According to an official, SSP Samba Vinay Sharma and Deputy Commissioner Samba Abhishek Sharma started the action together. The property, which was found in the Vijaypur tehsil of the Samba district's Rakh Barotian area, was estimated to be worth Rs. 15 lakhs. "The property belonged to the notorious drug dealer Shamas Din, alias Bacchu," he stated. The official continued, saying that the operation was carried out by the administration in accordance with sections 68-E read with 68-F of the NDPS Act of 1985 in connection with three FIRs, with the resolute assistance of law enforcement authorities. "The residential property, identified as ill-gotten gains acquired through illicit drug trafficking, was uncovered during thorough investigation and inquiry conducted by the vigilant officers of Police Station Vijaypur and established backward linkage of the properties of the accused with the Drug Peddling," he said. He continued by saying that the operation is a harsh reminder of District Samba's steadfast determination to end the drug problem in our neighbourhoods. The people in the area applauded this proactive action as well, seeing it as a crucial step in guaranteeing a drug-free and safer environment for everybody. By tagging the belongings of a well-known drug dealer, the ad sends a strong message to stop drug dealers' activities. This move demonstrates the administration's unwavering commitment to addressing drug-related problems and ensuring community safety and wellbeing. The team led by Sudesh Kumar Tehsildar Vijaypur and Rohit Gupta, SDPO Vijaypur, carried out the property attachment operation, which was carried out by Zaheer Mushtaq, SHO Vijaypur, and his colleagues. In order to ensure the success of the Nasha-Mukt campaign, the district administration kindly requests the assistance of all locals and stakeholders, and extends an invitation for them to work together to create a more promising and drug-free future for Samba.
