BJP Will Win 370 Seats, NDA More Than 400 Seats In LS Polls: Shah

AHMEDABAD, Feb 12: The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is expected to win more than 400 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, according to Union Minister Amit Shah, who stated on Monday that there is no doubt in the minds of the public about the outcome. The ruling BJP is predicted to win 370 seats. In a jab at the Congress, Shah stated that during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ten years in office, the first five years were spent plugging the "pit" the opposition party had dug during its time in power and the next five years were spent setting the groundwork for future growth. The senior BJP leader declared, "Make him (Modi) the prime minister for the third term and a magnificent building will come up on the foundation at a very fast pace," following the announcement of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation's (AMC) Rs 1,950 crore development projects. "I toured eleven states in January, and I was in Karnataka yesterday. There is no tension in any state over the (Lok Sabha election results). People all around the nation believe that the NDA will win over 400 seats and the BJP will win 370 seats, according to Shah. He claimed that over the past ten years, Prime Minister Modi has given numerous projects momentum and direction and achieved previously unthinkable goals.According to Shah, the "Gujarat model" was the driving force behind Modi's election as the nation's prime minister in 2014. The senior BJP leader stated that after ten years of PM Modi's leadership, people are optimistic that India will top the international rankings in 2047. PM Modi outlined a plan to take the nation to new heights. He asserted that Prime Minister Modi is capable of creating a strategy and seeing it through to completion. According to him, this has caused the Indian economy to rise from its previous ranking of eleventh to the fifth largest in the world. "Without a doubt, we will emerge as the third-largest economy during the third term of the Modi administration," stated Shah. The Union minister added that PM Modi was present when the idol of Lord Ram was dedicated at the Ayodhya temple on January 22 of this year. Army opens fire on Pakistani drone in Poonch

MENDHAR/JAMMU: In the Poonch area of Jammu and Kashmir, army troops opened fire on a Pakistani drone a short distance from the Line of Control (LoC), according to officials on Monday. However, late on Sunday night, the drone returned to Pakistan after passing momentarily over Indian territory, according to the officials. Chandigarh, Feb 12: Three Union ministers are scheduled to meet on Monday with a group of leaders of farmers who are organising a march on Delhi. Convoys of tractor-trolleys have already left Punjab in order to participate in the march in the meantime. In an attempt to thwart the farmers' planned "Delhi Chalo" march on February 13, Haryana officials have reinforced the state's border with Punjab at many locations in Ambala, Jind, Fatehabad, and Kurukshetra with concrete blocks, iron nails, and barbed wire. In addition, the Haryana government has enforced restrictions in up to fifteen districts pursuant to Section 144 of the CrPC, which forbids any type of demonstration or march including a tractor-trolley and forbids gatherings of five or more individuals in such districts.More than 200 agricultural unions are scheduled to travel to Delhi on February 13 to force the Centre to adopt a number of requests, including the enactment of a law guaranteeing a minimum support price (MSP) for crops. LUCKNOW: In light of the state board exams for Classes 10 and 12, senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has chosen to shorten the length of his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Uttar Pradesh, the party announced on Monday. "As a sensitive role model, Rahul Gandhi ji has prioritised the public interest on numerous occasions. NEW DELHI: Eight former members of the Indian Navy who had been held in the Gulf nation on suspicion of espionage have been freed, marking a significant diplomatic win for India. In a statement issued early on Monday, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) hailed the development and stated that seven of the eight former members of the Indian Navy who were employed by the private company Al Dahra Global Company had returned to India from Qatar. "The release of eight Indian citizens who were arrested in Qatar while employed for Dahra Global Company is welcomed by the Indian government. Of the eight, seven have gone back to India. The MEA stated in a statement, "We are grateful for the Emir of the State of Qatar's decision to facilitate these citizens' release and return home. Eight Indian Navy personnel who were detained in the Al Dahra Global case had their death sentences overturned by a Qatari court in December of last year. The death penalty was lowered to prison time. The change occurred after the Indian government's appeal against the Navy veterans' death sentences was granted by Qatar's Court of First Instance. Captain Navtej Singh Gill, Captain Birendra Kumar Verma, Captain Saurabh Vasisht, Commander Amit Nagpal, Commander Purnendu Tiwari, Commander Sugunakar Pakala, Commander Sanjeev Gupta, and Sailor Ragesh are the eight members of the Indian Navy that were taken into custody in Qatar.The veterans of the Indian Navy came back to Delhi and expressed their gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for taking up the cause.
