Air Force deploys Dornier aircraft to transport liver from Pune to Delhi

NEW DELHI: In order to save the life of an army veteran, the Indian Air Force quickly used its Dornier aircraft to fly a group of medics from the Army Hospital here to Pune in order to recover a liver. The Indian Air Force stated on Sunday that the mission was important because it was carried out on short notice on February 23. "An IAF Dornier aircraft was activated at short notice to airlift a team of doctors of Army Hospital (R&R), to retrieve a liver from Pune to Delhi during the night on 23 February," added the statement. According to the IAF, the veteran's life was spared thanks to the subsequent transplant procedure. Army Hospital (Research and Referral), also referred to as Army Hospital (R&R), is the premier medical facility in the Delhi Cantonment region for the armed forces, treating military personnel as well as their families. NEW DELHI, Feb 25: Omar Abdullah, a former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, called it "a matter of considerable shame" that the Supreme Court, not the Election Commission of India, was required to issue an order on elections in Jammu and Kashmir. The head of the National Conference also stated that it was incorrect to believe that Article 370 was the primary cause of all of J&K's issues and that terrorist assaults were now occurring in places that had previously been free of terrorism, notably the hills of Jammu, Rajouri, and Poonch. Speaking on Saturday at the Ideas of India Summit 3.0 hosted Abdullah questioned, "What is the BJP and what is the Government of India going to do about the deadline the Supreme Court has set?" pointing out that the court had declared that Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections were to take place by the end of September 2024. Abdullah stated, "It is a great disgrace that the Supreme Court had to declare the results of the elections in Jammu and Kashmir instead of the Election Commission or the Government of India."The Supreme Court affirmed the Center's decision in December of last year to repeal Article 370, which had granted the former state of Jammu and Kashmir a special status, but it also ordered that statehood be restored "as soon as possible." It stated that assembly elections ought to take place before September 30, 2024. Abdullah added that terror assaults targeting Pandits in Kashmir are commonplace in the Valley. He claimed that even after Article 370 was repealed, there are still pockets of separatist support and that there is rarely more than a week or two between terrorist attacks. He said that under the current (Union) government, more Kashmiri Pandits had been slain in targeted attacks than under prior administrations.The former chief minister further asserted that the Pandits from Kashmir, who were resettled by his government with government jobs in the Valley, are now begging to be let to return to Jammu. "Kashmiri Pandits no longer feel secure in their surroundings thanks to this regime. More Pandits from Kashmir wish to flee the region now than they did five or ten years ago, Abdullah continued., he asserted that during the current government's mandate, more Kashmiri Pandits had lost their lives in targeted attacks in the Valley than in previous times. NIA attaches 4 properties in Handwara in narco-terror case

Srinagar, Feb 24: In the Handwara region of Kupwara district, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) today confiscated cash and attached four homes as part of a narco-terrorism investigation involving Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) and Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT).The NIA has confiscated cash worth Rs 2.27 crore and attached the properties of the four accused in the Handwara region of the Kupwara district. The single-story home of accused Muneer Ahmad Pandey, the double-story home of accused Afaq Ahmad Wani, the home of Saleem Andrabi, and the double-story home of Islamul Haq are the immovable properties linked.So far in this investigation, the NIA has charged fifteen people and detained twelve of the accused. The case (RC 03/2020/NIA/JMU) concerns LeT and HM's violent terror operations in the Handwara-Kupwara area, which they financed with the "proceeds of narcotic drugs." After a black bag and numerous 500-denomination Indian cash notes were found during vehicle inspections in the Handwara district of Langate, a lawsuit was filed. The NIA released a statement stating that the seizure was made from a white Creta automobile without a registration number. It should be noted that the NIA conducted a thorough investigation after Abdul Momin Peer, the driver of the automobile, was questioned and information on the link between narcoterrorism and drugs was revealed.In addition to numerous pieces of evidence, including substantial quantities of cash, 21 kilogrammes of heroin were found during the initial searches conducted in the homes of the individual defendants. Slapping wife in public doesn’t attract outraging modesty of woman: J&K HC

SRINAGAR: The High Court overturned the trial court's decision to take cognizance against the husband, ruling that a husband slapping his wife in public does not constitute an offence under the Indian Penal Code. After reviewing the wife's allegation against her husband, Justice Rajnesh Oswal declared that there was no crime under Section 354 of the IPC associated with the application to make a formal complaint or begin criminal proceedings against the petitioner-husband for hitting her. During the trial court's consideration of the case, the respondent-wife's statement was recorded. Based on its wisdom, the trial court then decided to submit the complaint to SHO, P/S Pulwama for an investigation under Section 202 of Cr.P. C.Following the submission of a report by the SHO, P/S Pulwama, to the trial court, the court proceeded to issue a process against the petitioner-husband for alleged crimes under Section 323 and Section 354 IPC. "As rightly conceded by the counsel appearing for the respondent-wife, from the averments made in the complaint, no offence under Section 354 IPC is made out but offence under Section 323 IPC is made out as the respondent has categorically stated that she was thrashed and slapped in public gaze by the petitioner when she had come to attend the proceedings" , said Justice Oswal. The court rejected the proceedings after reaching the reasoned conclusion that it is not legally viable to issue a summons for the conduct of an offence under Section 354 IPC. The trial court's actions were contested on the grounds that, given the facts in the complaint, there was no basis for the trial court to have made an order for the commission of an offence under Section 354 of the IPC. The Court dismissed the case in accordance with Section 354 after accepting the submission.
