7-yr-old child dies after vehicle returning from Vaishno Devi Temple falls into ditch near Katra

Katra : Today, a car carrying about eight devotees plunged into a ditch. The bus was returning from Katra to Delhi. There were eight people in the car, seven of whom had serious injuries, and one of the children, seven years old, passed away instantly. The event happened in the Nomai area at about five in the morning when the travelling pace became unbalanced. In Katra, the injured are receiving care at a public hospital. SIA conducts raids in terror funding case in Srinagar

SRINAGAR: In an investigation into terror funding, the State Investigation Agency of the Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted raids in the valley on Friday, according to officials. The agency stated that the raids were carried out at a few sites in the districts of Anantnag and Pulwama. According to them, the lawsuit concerns the accused parties' unlawful raising, stacking, and laundering of criminal funds. The agency claims that the proceeds of crime may have been used for illegal acts like as terrorism and secessionism. CS chairs UT level NCORD meeting, focuses rehabilitation of victims

JAMMU: The 7th UT Level Apex Committee meeting of NCORD was headed by Chief Secretary Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, who also conducted a thorough evaluation of all the ongoing efforts being made in Jammu and Kashmir to address the drug problem. ACS Home, Administrative Secretaries GAD, Forest, PWD, DG prosecution, and top officers NCORD were present at the meeting; deputy commissioners participated virtually. In her talk to the police, Dr. Mehta stressed the need of helping people who have become victims of drug misuse to lead normal lives by offering them support and assistance.He prioritised the rehabilitation of people impacted by the drug war while also directing continual monitoring in that regard. He said that Nasha Mukt J&K is a crucial component of B2V and that every Panchayat member should swear to end the threat. In order to guarantee the prompt resolution of NDPS cases, the Chief Secretary ordered during the meeting the creation of special NDPS fast-track courts in a minimum of five districts. Additionally, he demanded that statistics at the state level be preserved, including the number of drug victims who underwent counselling and treatment.The Deputy Commissioners and SSPs were instructed by the Chief Secretary to closely monitor the regions where drug trafficking is prevalent and to take appropriate punitive measures against the offenders. He requested that they discuss the matter at monthly meetings and that anyone found guilty of abusing medications that have the potential to be utilised as psychotropic substances face severe consequences. The Chief Secretary ordered computerised billing and 100% CCTV camera coverage for every pharmacy. In order to properly implement the objective, the H&ME department was therefore directed to make sure that qualified personnel is available in every area. Dr. Mehta emphasised how critical it is to educate the people about the risks associated with drug usage. Additionally, he asked police to keep up their collaboration and synergy across various wings and departments in order to eradicate drug-related activities in the Union Territory altogether. In order to do this, Dr. Mehta emphasised the necessity of creating a strong feedback system and strengthening the capacity of law enforcement personnel engaged in drug-related operations. Raina begins 3-day tour of Udhampur for “Booth Jan Samvad Abhiyaan”

UDHAMPUR: The "Booth Jan Samvad Abhiyaan" is a series of events organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jammu & Kashmir, under the leadership of its President, Ravinder Raina. Ravinder Raina, the president of the J&K BJP, started his three-day tour in the Udhampur district today. He spoke to the general public in four separate sessions today. 2 cops suspended for dereliction of duty in Jammu

JAMMU: According to an official, two Jammu and Kashmir Police constables were suspended on Thursday for neglecting their duties. When a police car was discovered abandoned and personnel assigned to night duty was discovered to be neglecting their duties, a specially assigned team of police officials was performing their normal nightly check, the official stated. He added that in response, two police officers from Police Post Chinore were suspended by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu Dr. Vinod Kumar. 559 inducted in BSF at passing out parade held in Kashmir

SRINAGAR: After 44 weeks of training, 599 recruits were officially welcomed into the Border Security Force (BSF) on Thursday. At the attestation ceremony and passing out parade, which took place at the BSF Subsidiary Training Centre in Humhama, Budgam district, the recruits were officially welcomed. According to a BSF official, 204 of the trainees are from Odisha, 208 are from Andhra Pradesh-208, 112 are from Kerala, and 75 are from Telangana. The trainees are from Eastern and Southern India. The parade's primary guest was BSF Director General Nitin Agrawal. Speaking to the recruits, DG BSF expressed his gratitude for the parade's high point—an outstanding demonstration of coordination, abilities, and self-assurance.
