SRINAGAR: Iltija Mufti, the media advisor of Mehbooba Mufti, the head of the People's Democratic Party, asserted on Tuesday that the former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister was nearly "manhandled" when she attempted to organise a nonviolent demonstration in favour of Palestine during Israel's conflict. Iltija Mufti, a news conference speaker and Mehbooba Mufti's daughter, questioned the Jammu and Kashmir local administration further, questioning why it has been suppressing the PDP since 2019. Mehbooba Mufti was nearly violently attacked when she attempted to demonstrate in favour of Palestine. She was denied the right to peaceful protest.I would like to know why the local government has been suppressing the PDP since 2019. You accuse us of being anti-national. However, the things we wish to do are nonviolent," Iltija Mufti stated. Amidst the present Israel-Hamas conflict, which has resulted in over 5,000 deaths so far, Iltija made her thoughts. Srinagar, Oct 24: Director General Police Dilbagh Singh stated on Tuesday that just 10 local teenagers in Jammu and Kashmir joined militant ranks in 2023, compared to 110 the year before. Singh was making an appeal to the ultras to desist from violence and reintegrate into society. Following his visit to the Mata Badrakali Temple in Handwara, Kupwara district, Singh informed media that the militant movement in Jammu and Kashmir was "almost finished" and that its "remnants" will soon be eradicated.Only ten (local) teenagers have joined militancy this year. A year before, 110 had turned militant. How fortunate it would have been for none of them to enlist, as even out of the ten, six have already died and the other four will soon follow in death. "They ought to veer off the violent path and return," he declared.According to Singh, terrorists have families of their own, and security personnel are not made happy by these kinds of murders. Police officers visit families of those killed in line of duty in Kishtwar

Jammu, Oct 24 : Police in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar area initiated an outreach programme to show their thanks to the families of heroic individuals who lost their lives while performing their duties. Badrinath Dham set to shut for winter on 18 Nov

UTTARAKHAND: Authorities announced on Tuesday that the Shri Badrinath Dham's portals in Uttarakhand will be closed for the winter starting on November 18. According to Ajendra Ajay, President of the Shri Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC), the decision was made during a religious ritual held on the temple grounds in honour of Vijayadashami today. Additionally, he added that pilgrim priests, religious leaders, and advocates for human rights were present at the event. Thousands of devotees gathered in the Dham to see the ritual, according to BKTC President Ajay.Earlier this year, on April 27, devotees were able to enter Shri Badrinath Dham. According to the Uttarakhand Police Headquarters earlier this month, by October 16 there will have been over 50 lakh pilgrims visiting Char-Dham. In addition, about 5,40,000 automobiles have made visits to Char-Dham. Following the start of the Yatra, more than 17,8000 pilgrims travelled to Kedarnath Dham, 15,9000 to Badrinath Dham, 8,46000 to Gangotri, 6,94,000 to Yamunotri, and more than 1,77000 to Hemkund Sahib.Meanwhile, the Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee released an official statement stating that on November 14, the doors of Shri Gangotri Dham will close for the winter. NEW DELHI: Ajay Goel, the Chief Financial Officer of Edtech startup BYJU'S, has left the company and is going back to Vedanta after concluding the financial year 2022 audit process, the company announced in a statement on Tuesday. The edtech firm has brought in seasoned businessman Pradip Kanakia as a senior advisor, and President (Finance) Nitin Golani has been granted more authority as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of India to manage the company's financial operations. "I appreciate BYJU'S founders and colleagues helping me put together the FY'22 audit in just three months. During my brief but significant tenure at BYJU'S, I am grateful for the support I received," Goel stated.According to the statement, he will move on after the financial year (FY) 2022 audit procedures are over. Sources claim that because Goel's departure was still being processed, the company's scheduled board meeting to approve the outcome in the second week of October could not proceed. The company's audit process will be materially impacted by the CFO's resignation, therefore even if Goel's audit is complete, the auditor BDO (MSKA & Associates) will sign off on the audit after conducting due diligence. Following the completion of the procedure by BDO (MSKA & Associates), the FY 2022 result will be presented to the board of BYJU for adoption, the source stated.After working for the company for six months, Goel has resigned. Deloitte Haskins and Sells announced in a letter to the board of Byju that it is leaving its position as Think & Learn's auditor three years before its contract expires because of a protracted delay in the edtech company's financial statement for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2022.Following the resignation of Deloitte Haskins and Sells, the company named BDO (MSKA & Associates) as its auditor. Kankia, a senior advisor at BYJU'S, has over 35 years of expertise, having held executive roles at Price Waterhouse and KPMG. Prior to moving into an operational role at Aakash following the acquisition by Byju for USD 1 billion in 2021, Golani served as Chief Strategy Officer at Aakash Education.He started his career with Grant Thornton Bharat and has since held positions at Accenture Strategy and MetLife. Byju Raveendran and Divya Gokulnath, the founders of BYJU, praised Goel for his work as CFO and showed faith in the new group. According to police, on October 17, 2023, information about the murder of an unidentified woman and the discovery of her body by the roadside at Durbal, Bemina, was reported to Police Station Bemina. According to them, a police crew raced to the area to collect the body and protect the crime scene.After a case was filed at Police Station Bemina in accordance with the applicable legal provisions, an inquiry was conducted, and it was discovered that the deceased was Tanveera, the wife of Showkat Ahmad Kaloo, a resident of Nundresh Colony B, Batamaloo, Srinagar.
