IDF : Head Of Hamas’ Aerial Forces Killed In Israeli Airstrike

Tel Aviv [Israel], Oct 28: The Israel Defence Forces and Shin Bet security services have confirmed that Issam Abu Rukbeh, the leader of Hamas' aerial section, was killed in an attack during the night. Abu Rukbeh was in charge of the air defences, aerial detection systems, drones, unmanned aerial vehicles, and paragliders used by Hamas. He coordinated drone assaults against Israel Defence Force observation posts and guided terrorists using paragliders to reach southern Israel, thus playing a major part in the preparation and execution of the October 7 attack.The IDF declared on October 14 that Murad Abu Murad, the former commander of Hamas's aerial forces, had been killed. Sgt Shirel Haim Pour, a 20-year-old from Rishon Lezion, was also named by the Israel Defence Forces as one of the soldiers slain in the October 7 Hamas attack. The Times of Israel claimed that after informing her family, her name was cleared for publishing. With the passing of Sgt Pour, who was a member of the Gaza Division, 311 soldiers, officers, and reservists had lost their lives in the fighting. Numerous skirmishes broke out between Israel Defence Forces soldiers and Hamas militants over the course of the force's overnight ground operation in the Gaza Strip.But there were no reported injuries among the soldiers during these encounters. In the meantime, tonight's fighter aircraft attacks in the northern Gaza Strip targeted over 150 subsurface targets by the Israeli Air Force. As stated in an IAF post on X, "terrorists belonging to the terrorist organisation Hamas were eliminated during the attack and combat tunnels, underground combat spaces, and other underground terrorist infrastructures were destroyed." The ground operation is still ongoing, and the IDF is still present in the Gaza Strip with tanks, infantry, and combat engineering personnel. Furthermore, according to The Times of Israel, the IDF carried out airstrikes that targeted some 150 underground locations used by the terrorist organisation Hamas, killing a number of Hamas members.Separately, a cruise missile was fired towards Israel on Friday night by the Houthis, a terrorist group operating as an Iranian proxy in Yemen. The Israeli Embassy in New Delhi was notified that a missile struck Taba in Egypt, close to the Israeli border, injuring six Egyptian security officers. This is the second time the Houthis have attempted to attack Israel with missiles; the first effort was thwarted by an American battleship. The Israeli embassy further mentioned that the Houthis adhere to a Tehran-based strategy that seeks to intensify hostilities between Iran's proxies and Israel.Israel is still determined to protect itself by whatever means necessary, and the international community needs to hold Iran accountable for any possible escalation of hostilities between Israel and the Houthis. India create history, cross 100 medals at Asian Para Games in record-breaking campaign

NEW DELHI: Dilip Mahadu Gavit won a gold medal on Saturday, marking the 100th medal won by Indian para-athletes at the Asian Para Games in Hangzhou. In the Men's 400m T47 event, Gavit took home the gold medal. With a great run time of 49.48 seconds, he won the coveted gold. This is the Indian para contingent's most successful Para Asian Games campaign to date, having won 100 medals for the first time. India has claimed 26 gold, 29 silver, and 45 bronze medals as of the publication of this article. CS reviews performance of Revenue Department

JAMMU: Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, Chief Secretary, conducted a thorough evaluation of the Revenue Department's operations today. IT department sensitises officers about taxation, financial matters

JAMMU: An outreach and sensitization programme was held on Friday by the Income Tax Department and the Deputy Commissioner's office to increase public knowledge and comprehension of financial and tax issues. During the programme, Assistant Accounts Officers and Drawing and Disbursing Officers from various departments participated in an interactive session led by Income Tax Officer Jammu, Rajneesh Gupta, and Deputy Commissioner Income Tax Jammu, Dr. Mohnish Digra. In addition to highlighting the need of financial literacy, Dr. Mohnish Digra underlined India's goal of being a developed country by 2047. He emphasised the number of income tax returns filed over the years and the steady rise in net direct tax receipts.Dr. Mohnish Digra also spoke to the audience about a worrying trend in which people are reporting incorrect deductions in order to obtain fraudulent refunds, which causes losses for the government. Employees were reminded that the Income Tax Department keeps a careful eye on these kinds of deductions, and DDOs were made aware of their responsibility to confirm the validity of such claims. Rajneesh Gupta emphasised the severe repercussions of claiming fictitious refunds, which include case review, tax recovery, and penalties under section 270A up to 200% of the tax avoided. He pointed out that such behaviour may result in prosecution under Income Tax Act section 276C, which carries a harsh sentence of up to seven years in prison.Gupta also provided the audience with information regarding the possible remedies for correcting errors, which include filing amended forms for Assessment Years 2021–22 and 2022–23 under section 139(8A) of the IT Act and paying 25% and 50% of the applicable penalties in addition to the tax. For Assessment Year 2023–2024, ITR revisions are permitted without incurring penalties. Interactions took place during the programme to address a variety of topics, including how to accurately file ITRs, how to use the Income Tax chatbot, what deductions are allowed under the Income Tax Act of 1961, and how tax calculation advantages both under the old and new tax regimes. JAMMU: At the Conventional Centre Jammu here, Chief Secretary Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta officially launched the Amrit Kalash Yatra under the banner of "Meri Mati Mera Desh" (Mitti Ko Naman Veeron Ko Vandan) to New Delhi today. In addition to a sizable number of PRI members from throughout the UT, those in attendance included Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Home, R K Goel; Commissioner Secretary, GAD, Sanjeev Verma; Secretary Culture, Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah; and other Administrative Secretaries, IGP Jammu, Div Com Jammu, DC Jammu.The chief guest and other dignitaries lit a traditional lamp to kick off the programme. The Chief Secretary also gave the attendees a pledge on PanchPran (Pratigya) that included a developed nation by 1947. During the programme, the Chief Secretary and other dignitaries also kept some Mitti in the Kalash (pot) under the'muthibharmitti'. He described it as a symbolic action to demonstrate support for fellow citizens of our magnificent country. Speaking to the crowd, the Chief Secretary announced that 83 lakh participants from Jammu and Kashmir made up the largest group of participants in Meri Maati Mera Desh, based on the population ratio of the country's States and Unions.He praised everyone who helped make this a reality and called this accomplishment extraordinary. Constant endeavour from across LoC to disturb peace, vitiate security environment in J&K : Army officer

SRINAGAR: A senior army commander stated on Friday that there is a persistent attempt from the other side of the Line of Control (LoC) to undermine the security situation and disturb peace in Jammu and Kashmir since the hostile elements have not taken to normality well. Major General Girish Kalia, the General Officer Commanding (Vajr Division) of the security forces, stated at a press conference regarding Operation Shikanja, which was initiated along the Line of Control in the Machil sector of Kupwara, North Kashmir, that the security forces are dedicated to stopping any attempt by the enemy to disturb the security situation in the Union territory. Five militants were killed during their attempt to infiltrate.
