JAMMU, Nov 15: At least 30 people died after a bus, travelling from Kishtwar to Jammu, plunged into a gorge in the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.
The bus skidded off the road and rolled down into a 300-feet gorge near Trungal-Assar on the Batote-Kishtwar national highway, Jammu Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar was quoted. Around 40 passengers were on board the bus bearing registration number JK02CN-6555.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh also said that a helicopter service was being arranged to transport the injured.
“Injured being shifted to District Hospital Kishtwar and GMC Doda as per requirement. Helicopter service to be arranged for shifting the more injured ones. All possible help, as required being provided,” Mr Singh said on X (formerly Twitter).
