UDHAMPUR, SEPTEMBER 30: 654 polling parties were dispatched to various far-off locations with polling materials for the upcoming General Assembly Elections 2024. These polling parties will serve four Udhampur Assembly constituencies: AC-59 Udhampur West, AC-60 Udhampur East, AC-62 Ramnagar, and AC-61 Chenani. The dispatch operation was conducted under tight security from Government Degree College Boys and Government College for Women, Udhampur.
Additional District Development Commissioner Rajinder Singh, IAS Probationer Swati Sheemar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh along with the Returning Officers of all four constituencies.
District Election Officer Udhampur, Saloni Rai, personally monitored the dispatch, ensuring that the polling parties were equipped with all necessary polling materials, including Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).
Addressing the polling staff, DEO emphasized the need for seamless coordination among Zonal and Sector Magistrates, as well as Police Officers, to ensure the smooth conduct of polling on October 1, 2024. She also interacted with the polling parties, underscoring the critical role they play in upholding the integrity of the electoral process.
While briefing the media, the DEO appealed to all eligible voters in Udhampur District to exercise their democratic right by casting their votes on poll day.
She urged citizens to actively participate in the electoral process. She instructed the ROs, Zonal and Sector Magistrates to ensure the timely arrival of polling parties at their designated locations. DEO reiterated the importance of conducting free, fair and transparent elections, urging all involved to adhere strictly to the guidelines set by the Election Commission of India. She stressed that it is the collective responsibility of the polling teams to ensure a smooth and orderly election process, upholding the sanctity of democracy.
