KISHTWAR, SEPTEMBER 17: As many as 377 poll parties were dispatched today from District headquarter to 3 Assembly Constituencies of district Kishtwar, which are slated to go to polls like other 21 ACs of UT of Jammu & Kashmir tomorrow, in the first phase of the General Election to Assembly Elections 2024.
The whole exercise was executed under the overall supervision of District Election Officer, Rajesh Kumar Shavan and under the close coordination of respective Returning officers Idrees Lone of 48-Inderwal,Pawan Kotwal of 49-Kishtwar and Dr Amit Kumar of 50-Paddar Nagseni besides officers of Police and CAPF.
SSP Abdul Qayoom, in presence of ROs, flagged off the fleet for respective destinations amid adequate security measures.
Kishtwar district boasts 429 polling stations, underscoring the scale of logistical coordination required for successful elections.
Earlier, 52 advance polling parties were dispatched to the far off/Shadow areas of Marwah, Warwan, Dachhan, Machail and Bonjwah where the polling parties had to trek a considerable distance to reach the polling station.
The dispatch operation saw the mobilization of GPS-fitted vehicles to ensure the prompt and secure transportation of polling personnel to their designated stations. With the collaborative efforts of the electoral administration and law enforcement agencies, every precaution has been taken to facilitate a fair and transparent voting process.
The adequate breakfast and lunch facility for the dispatched parties was ensured at district headquarter and the lodging and meal arrangements of the polling personnel at the respective polling stations have also been taken care of in collaboration with the Nodal officer logistics across the district, informed the official.
