KATHUA, SEPTEMBER 19: In the run up to Legislative Assembly election, the 2nd Randomization of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) for all the six Assembly Segments of Kathua was conducted in the conference Hall of DC Office Complex here today in accordance with the guidelines of Election Commission of India (ECI), here.
The 2nd Randomization process was held under the supervision of District Election Officer, Dr Rakesh Minhas (DC), in presence of the General Observers for Kathua District.
General Observer Sunil Kumar Yadav, General Observer Dorje Chhering Negi, General Observer A.M Khanum (virtually) attended the proceedings.
The representatives of Political parties, Contesting Candidates, Returning Officers, Deputy DEO, Nodal Officer EVMs and other Officers of District Election Authority Kathua were present.
The 2nd and final randomisation of Ballot Units, Control Units and VVPATs for Six Assembly Segments of Kathua District namely 63-Bani, 64-Billawar, 65-Basohli, 66-Jasrota, 67-Kathua (SC) and 68-Hiranagar was carried out through a dedicated software-EVM Management System. The reserve EVMs were also allotted to polling stations for use.
Pertinently, District Kathua has a network of 704 Polling Stations established across six ACs.
Earlier, the candidates and representatives were briefed about the EVMs ensuring their confidence in the uprightness of the process and encouraging that all requisite measures have been enacted to uphold the sanctity of the polls in free, fair and transparent manner as per the guidelines of Election Commission of India.
All the representatives of Contesting Candidates/Political parties expressed their satisfaction over the entire randomisation process.
