BHADERWAH, MARCH 11: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bhaderwah, Sunil Kumar today chaired a meeting to finalize arrangements for the holy month of Ramadan.
The meeting was attended by functionaries of all departments including Power Development Department (PDD), Jal Shakti (PHE) Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Municipal Committee, Health Department and Police, besides representatives of religious and social, NGO organizations.
The ADC asked the concerned to ensure availability of all requisite and essential commodities, especially mutton, Chicken, Vegetables and milk on prescribed rate during the Holy Month of Ramadan. He directed the officers of all departments to work in a synergized manner to avoid inconvenience to the people.
The PDD and PHE departments were asked to provide adequate power and potable water supply at the time of Iftar and Sehri as well as in all the Mosques and shrines. He also directed MC Bhaderwah to repair all defunct street lights, damaged drains, poles, transformers and water pipes and gravity lines before the holy month of Ramadan.
He further directed the authorities of FCS&CA department to keep available essential commodities for the general public during all the weekdays and asked for effective monitoring of the public distribution mechanism.
The ADC Bhaderwah appealed to the people to purchase commodities at government approved rates and directed shopkeepers to display Rates list on front and request the public to appraise administration about overcharging by the sellers. He said the flying squad of the officers and officials from M.C.B, Veterinary, Health and FCS&CA has been constituted to intensify market checking and take strict action against the hoarders and black marketers.
The ADC directed the Municipal Committee to maintain proper sanitation and cleanliness in and around the town, specifically around places of religious significant and at places of large congregations.
