JAMMU, Sept 21: In the Poonch area of Jammu and Kashmir, close to the Line of Control (LoC), a 70-foot-tall national flag has been raised, according to a defence official on Thursday. The flag foundation of India and the Army worked together to install the tricolour, according to the spokesman. In the presence of senior district officials, including Poonch Deputy Commissioner Yaseen M Chaudhary, District Development Council Chairperson Tazeem Akhter, and Senior Superintendent of Police Vinay Kumar Sharma, he claimed that Commander of the 93 Infantry Brigade Brigadier Rajesh Bisht dedicated the national flag to the people. There were also a lot of veterans and ex-servicemen there. Every inhabitant of Poonch connects himself with our nation, the official said, hence the raising of the flag at Ajote has enormous meaning for them. (Agencies)
