SRINAGAR: Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, the president of the Apni Party, stated on Tuesday that if his party is elected to power, they will prioritise undoing the decision to stop Darbar Move. Bukhari stated: “The Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party completely supports the justifiable demand of the Jammu people for the decision to reverse the ‘Darbar Move’ decision to be discontinued. Please note that if the Apni Party is elected to power, they will give this issue top priority. Notably, the current J&K government led by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha abolished the long-standing custom of the Darbar Move, claiming it placed an undue load on the public coffers. However, Jammuities, who desire the rapid revival of this ritual, harshly criticised the decision.
