Jammu : On Friday, a new group of 1,181 pilgrims departed from here under heavy security for the Amarnath shrine in the south Kashmir Himalayas. Since the yatra in the valley began on July 1, more than 4.5 lakh worshippers have offered their respects at the temple. While a convoy of 24 cars carrying 706 pilgrims going for Pahalgam left, a second convoy of 22 vehicles carrying 475 pilgrims headed for the Baltal base camp left. On August 31, the yatra is supposed to come to an end.
