SRINAGAR, Sept 15: The death toll from an ongoing encounter in the Anantnag area of Jammu and Kashmir increased by one soldier on Friday, bringing it to four since Wednesday. An official stated that the area has been sealed off and that a search has begun. The encounter came after a shootout on Wednesday between security personnel and terrorists hiding in the Kokernag region of Anantnag. Even though the encounter is still going on, a Jammu and Kashmir Police DSP, a Company Commander (Major), and a Commanding Officer (Colonel) of an Army Rashtriya Rifles unit were all killed in the gunfire.
