BANDIPORA: Altaf Bukhari, the president of the Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP), declared on Tuesday that he will run for parliament from north Kashmir. Dilawar Mir stated at a convention in the Bandipora district, which was attended by a sizable contingent of party members and supporters, that the decision was made following a party consensus. Senior Apni Party leader Dilawar Mir urged the people of north Kashmir to vote for Bukhari in order to secure his victory by a wide margin during his speech to the convention. According to Mir, the party’s only goal is to bring about peace, prosperity, and jobs in Jammu and Kashmir. In his speech, Altaf Bukhari pledged to work for the welfare of the local populace and to fight for their equal rights. Bukhari restated that his party would not engage in emotional rhetoric or make any false promises, and that Jammu and Kashmir’s future belonged to India. He declared that his party was prepared to work with any other party to advance Kashmir’s development. He also launched a vicious attack on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the National Conference (NC), charging them with lying to the public and engaging in deceptive politics. According to him, the Apni Party was not like them and would always tell it like it was.
