SRINAGAR, Feb 4: Snowfall in the valley on Sunday caused a temporary suspension of air communication between Kashmir and the rest of the country, according to officials here. Due to the snowfall, four flights have already been cancelled, and the other scheduled planes have been placed on standby, according to an Airport Authority of India spokesperson. The official stated that the runway could be cleared because the snowfall, which started late last night, had temporarily halted early in the morning. “But before any flights could take off, the snowfall resumed,” he said. While there has been reports of significant snowfall in the valley’s upper reaches, Kashmir’s plains are currently experiencing moderate snowfall. Since the wee hours of the morning, snow removal operations have been conducted to guarantee that the roads are fit for driving. Given the slick roadways, authorities have urged drivers to drive carefully.
