JAMMU: After more than 70 years of Indian independence, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha claimed on Saturday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had brought social justice to the Union Territory. According to him, the goal of his administration is to guarantee that progress extends to all aspect of society and that policies promoting fair access to opportunities are reinforced. Speaking at his monthly radio show “Awaam Ki Awaaz,” the Lieutenant Governor emphasised the government’s initiatives to promote social justice in order to create a “Atmanirbhar” in Jammu and Kashmir. Additionally, he told the tales of the beneficiaries and the heroic unsung figures who have come to represent change in “Naya Jammu Kashmir.”“After more than seven decades of India’s independence, the prime minister established social justice in J&K, which ensured everyone has access to equal opportunities and resources and well-being and prosperity of marginalised sections of society,” stated the Lieutenant Governor. He claimed that J&K is now on the route to fast and inclusive growth because to the “Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas” vision, which eliminated developmental inequities. “Without people-centered governance, no forward-thinking society can advance. Our goal is to guarantee that all societal segments experience progress, and that policies promoting fair access to opportunities are reinforced,” he stated.According to him, the government’s commitment to promoting the empowerment of everyone is demonstrated by the “historic” decision to include Paharis, Padari Tribes, Koli, and Gadda Brahmin in the Scheduled Tribes list while protecting the interests of Gujjar, Bakarwals, and other listed tribes. The Lieutenant Governor also honoured nationalist writer and thinker Thakur Raghunath Singh, recalling his important role in advancing Dogri language and culture, and dedicated the 35th edition of the “Awaam ki Awaaz programme” to the unsung heroes and “Nari Shakti” (wome power) of Jammu Kashmir. In addition, he expressed his gratitude and admiration for the preservation and promotion of Jammu and Kashmir’s rich artistic legacy to master artisan Ghulam Nabi Dar of Srinagar and Dogri folk singer Romalo Ram, both of whom received Padma Shri awards.
