JAMMU: The Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu Zone, Anand Jain on Monday chaired a detailed security assessment meeting at the Zonal Police Headquarters to painstakingly plan for the Republic Day celebrations. Officers from the Army, BSF, CRPF, Armed Forces, District Police, and civil administration were present at the meeting, according to a statement. In order to create a strong security framework, ADGP Jammu, Anand Jain, emphasised throughout the meeting how important it is for law enforcement agencies, intelligence units, and stakeholders to work together. The assessment covered traffic management, crowd control, and the use of advanced surveillance technology to improve situational awareness.Anand Jain advocated for good grassroots coordination to enable the smooth implementation of the national event, emphasising the need for individuals allocated to Republic Day tasks to get full briefings. Particular focus was placed on ensuring that MA Stadium was properly secured through security measures. Anand Jain took the initiative to direct intelligence agencies, especially SSP Jammu, to use all resources at their disposal for sophisticated intelligence collection in connection with Republic Day-2024 in order to prevent any anti-social or anti-national actions. Supervisory officers were advised to remain extremely vigilant inside their designated jurisdictions. Anand Jain emphasised the need of coordination and the need of successful cooperation between intelligence agencies, the Army, the PMF, traffic, and the Security Wing in their respective domains. In order to minimise disturbance for the general public attending the ceremony, SSP Jammu/SSP Traffic City, Jammu, was charged with identifying and designating appropriate parking spaces in advance and ensuring orderly parking and traffic arrangements. Key personnel from multiple units attended the conference, which was centred on working together to ensure a safe and well-run Republic Day celebration in 2024.
