JAMMU: Chief Secretary Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta today introduced Task Scheduler, a tool for aiding officers in managing and organising their tasks, and added the Auto Appeal System for 107 additional services, on top of the over 103 services that had already been integrated with the auto appeal system last month, to further streamline government-to-citizen services.Prerna Puri, Commissioner Secretary of IT, informed the Chief Secretary that 210 of the 480 online services currently offered to citizens are part of the Auto Appeal System, which guarantees prompt service delivery and automatically escalates requests in cases where the PSGA for J&K Deadlines for Public Services (PSGA) are not met.The Chief Secretary spoke at the event and issued an order to implement the remaining services as quickly as possible in order to realise “Bhrashtachar Mukt Jammu and Kashmir.” Dr. Mehta was grateful for the IT department’s proactive engagement in enhancing the usability and accessibility of online government services provided by the PSGA. He emphasised the importance of raising public awareness of the internet services provided by the government of Jammu and Kashmir.He gave instructions for the development of online lessons to aid individuals in understanding it and utilising the many citizen-friendly services offered online. In order to make sure that these services are accessible 24/7 with little downtime, the Chief Secretary also talked about potential methods to improve their accessibility and availability.The Chief Secretary outlined a number of initiatives to publicise the government’s service delivery and performance as part of the larger Digital J&K programme, which aims to improve residents’ lives in J&K through the use of digital technology. To raise awareness of the government’s initiatives and accomplishments, these methods also include the usage of digital billboards placed across the districts. Various other initiatives and online services that could be introduced in the coming days to support various citizen-friendly services and guarantee transparent governance were also discussed by the chief secretary.He took serious note of block infractions and gave officials three months to come up with digital surveillance solutions to stop the problem. Dr. Mehta spoke about prospects for integrating artificial intelligence-based technologies in the digital sphere to further enhance governance, increase accountability for departments and their specific officers, and maintain departmental efficiency. He asserted that AI technology can aid in the scientific rationalisation of government resources and the identification of underperforming human resources.The Chief Secretary requested the IT Department to further enhance online systems to assist officer accountability and track inaction and failure on the side of respective officers/officials during the launch. He also demanded the creation of a campaign to inform all government employees about the timetables for the online “Government to Citizen Services.” The Chief Secretary requested that the department make sure the Auto Appeal System is advertised and that each of the 210 online citizen services has a set deadline so that all stakeholders are aware of it. The auto appeal tool is currently available for the following departments: Agriculture, Labour & Employment, Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Revenue, and Finance. According to the Chief Secretary, the actions done by the Jammu and Kashmir administration have greatly increased accountability and transparency, positioning Jammu and Kashmir as a national leader. Principal Secretary, H&UDD, Commissioner, JMC, CEO, JaKeGA, scientists from NIC, and other interested officers were among those in attendance at this event.
